Just go get a $50 spring. Super easy job. I recommend using the proper torque bars to avoid injury. Winding that spring right in front of your face without the right tools would be a little scary. They're like $30 at Ace or maybe a neighbor has them.

Don't do this unless you know what you are doing. Serious injury can result from the slightest issue.

Just asking this question tells me you need to hire someone. You can seriously hurt yourself if you don't know what you are doing.

They came out and fixed a spring on our door too a few years ago. Only reason I know/remember this is because there’s a magnet of theirs still on the door and it’s great advertising.

Yep. Had them do work on a double garage and dual shop doors. Great work.

I'm not in BR, but not far. I've had 2 springs replaced in the past, one just last year. It was much cheaper than I thought it would be. I wanna say around $150 or so.

yeah, it's not like that here in the BR area. our garage was built with only 1 spring. It broke and when we had it replaced they added a second spring. 1 spring was going to be $500. Added another $100 for the second spring.

That's exactly how I knew who to call when my motor crapped out.
