EDIT: It looks like the initial reports of 2 people shooting at each other were incorrect, and Trump was the target. They didn’t come from the TDS news organizations which is why I thought them to be accurate at first.

Unless the 2nd person being reported involved was actually secret service returning fire I think Trump leaving at time of shooting was a coincidence, but not sure why gunman would drop the weapon unless he didn’t expect such a quick response.
