YT video

Of the full 6 minute highlight clip, damn near 3 minutes of it is Harold absolutely shitting on Arkansas

Look at him just flying around making plays man.

Now you rarely even hear his name called during games, just sickening.

At some point you have to wonder if it’s not just the scheme. There’s no way the play calling is so bad that he’s not getting home at least once or twice.

See the thing is, it is scheme. Coaches don’t want to send him off the edge constantly or let him roam in space.

Him being an ILB is so stupid. The guy can’t shed blocks when tackles block down on him and gets blown up trying to fill gaps. Just let him be an athlete at the STAR. He’s actually solid in coverage and would blow shite up blitzing.

Yea he should be on the edge and rushing.

If we need to take him off the field in certain situations so be it.

Or we just keep him on and live with it, but not at inside backer

Coaching, period. Let him run free on the edge and as a rover. good grief that is not very hard to figure out.

You guys need to understand this is as much about Perk wanting to be an ILB because that's what NFL scouts told him he needs to be as it is about anything else. I'm sure Baker would love to put him on the edge and just let him get after it.

I'm tired of this moronic explanation. It presumes that House and Baker were/are two so totally selfless people, that they would take a highly talented edge rusher and cram him into a position where he doesn't function well, and risk their defensive performance - i.e. their reputations and livelihood, just to benefit that one player or some future NFL team. . . I don't think that's what's really at play here.

And, when HP7 was at edge/rover as a freshman, all of CFB fans knew his name and reputation. Now, he's performing like just another middle of the pack SEC LB. I think the former is worth more money in the NFL than the latter. . . Just a thought.

He will not make an NFL roster as an ILB. It is very evident he does not have what it takes to play the position.

As the OP said most of his highlights were vs Ark. KJ Jefferson was out that game and Ark started a speedster Dual Threat guy. HP played Spy in that game and chased the QB wherever he went.

Hope that’s the strategy against Milroe this year.

Why won’t anyone in the media ask the question about what is going on with Perk?

This is what the "put Perkins on the LOS and let him go" people don't understand.

Perkins had 4 sacks in 12 games in 2021. And 4 vs Arky. None of the 4 vs arkansas were at the Edge spot. 2 were spys and 2 were lined up in coverage.

You can be tired of it all you want, but your feelings have no impact on the truth. Go listen to Shea Dixon's explanation yesterday on it just yesterday.

Paraphrasing, but essentially he said that Harold Perkins told the LSU staff in the offseason that the feedback from NFL scouts was that he needed tape at ILB, and that as LSU, you don't want it out there that you are taking 5 stars like Harold Perkins and when NFL scouts are saying "Hey this is what's best for your future" you are saying "well we don't really care about that we care about what he's doing here." That's not the route you take. Shea said as an LSU coach you say "hey Harold is a hell of an athlete and I'm a hell of a coach and we can make it work."

It was then reiterated that if the NFL is saying Perk needs to be an ILB, that Perk wants to be an ILB, and you're putting him at star, or end, or any other position that it would be a really bad look for LSU and would be used to recruit against you and all that other stuff. You have to do what's best for the player and his future.

Well Perkins is getting bad advice because he looks bad at ILB.

I also would expect BK and Baker to be able to work something out where he is playing where we need him but also getting some rep in the middle. You get both.

You can’t let a player hold the program hostage no matter how good he is. That’s how you end up looking like Colorado.

If you think an up and coming DC is going to crash his career up against the rocks of underperformance because of one player - talented 5 star or not - then I think it's you being emotional and not logical.

You say its a moronic explanation but you don't have an explanation yourself?

It's not me, so me being emotional or logical is irrelevant. It's Shea Dixon, and if you think he's making shite up, I don't know what to tell you. I would also say the more Blake puts Perk on the field at linebacker, the more he disagrees with you about underperformance. He probably has all the faith in the world that he and Perk can make it work, like I said originally.
