Best club to replace my 4iron with?

I’m a 5 handicap with decent swing speed. I’m looking for a replacement for my 4 iron, I just don’t hit it consistently well and I also hit it lower than I would like.
So I need a club for 210-225yd shots (with rollout), I’ve heard a lot of great things about 7 woods, how does that compare to a 4 hybrid?
My concern is that I’ll end up hitting it too far, my 3hybrid is my 230-245yd club so why get a 7wood or 4hybrid if they’re going to go 230?
Advice?

+1 hdcp here. My 5 iron goes 195. replaced 4I with a 4H that carries 210 mainly for trajectory.
3H - 225
3W - 245
For reference.
5W and 7W are good options, really just a matter of what works for you. Try a few and get fitted

Yea I suppose the answer is to go and test them out and see. I was just hoping someone would come in here with the magic answer

I still hit my 4I pretty well but the 4H has a much higher/softer trajectory into greens.
Callaway D and 3W
PING 3H & 4H
The Pings are adjustable for loft and lie

U505 3-iron
I have a 1 and 3 irons in those. Ball really jumps off the clubface

5h or 9w
DJ (and some other guys on tour) plays a 9 wood so dont think it's a grandpa club. It's very high launching and comes down soft.

My 7w is my favorite club in my bag.. I also hate hitting hybrids.. I don't know what it is, I carried a hybrid for years and just never hit it well.. when I found the 7w I will never go back..
That said , I also carry a 4 iron.. similar in distance but the 4iron has a different ball flight.. lower more piercing..

7 wood is definitely going to go too far because the loft is stronger and the shaft is up to 3” longer. Stock 4 hybrid will probably be a longer than a 4 iron due to higher COR and 1” longer shaft. I play 4 hybrid with a heavy graphite shaft 0.5” short to keep it around my usually 4 iron gap.

Low swing speed here.
You need data. Go to a fitting day and try some options.
It sounds like you can strike either a hybrid or a fairway wood with equal ability.
I guess sort out what you really prefer as far as look, performance, etc.
Meanwhile, I’ll dream about hitting my driver almost to your 4 hybrid.

I built a 9 wood year ago and threw it in the bag. It’s the only club that never changes. It’s so easy to hit and lands soft. 215-230 depending on fairway vs. tee

I’ve been in the same boat for year. A 4 udi is the answer. It’s a little bigger profile with a graphite shaft. It’s very easy to hit vs standard 4i with a steel shaft

Try out a 5 hybrid. I have a 24° TSR2 hybrid that fits the bill perfectly. It's my 210 club. Even if it seems like it would be duplicative with the loft of your next iron, the longer shaft length gives it more carry than the loft would indicate.

I use a 3 5 7 and 9 wood. I'm a 7 hc and my club head speed is average. I love my fairway woods, I can hit my 4 and 5 iron pretty good but I don't have enough club head speed to get the ball higher in the air and make it stop without a lot of roll out. My 7 and 9 wood go high and stop on the greens. I would definitely try them out before discounting them. My set up it D, 3w, 5w, 7w, 9w, 6.7.8.9.pw, 50, 54, 58 and putter.

For non tournament rounds I keep 15 clubs in my bag and go Driver, 3W, 3H, 4H, 4I.
My 3 hybrid is an absolute rocket launcher (my favorite club in my bag) so there's a pretty big gap in distance between my 3H and 4I when I'm playing in tournaments. But I found the 4H adjusted to a higher loft is a really good 3I replacement. Gets a higher trajectory, lands softer, more forgiving, and loft can be adjusted. Even if I was trying to replace my 4I like you instead of my 3I, I would still go with a 4H or 5H. I've for some reason just never hit a 5W or 7W too well and have loved the hybrid ever since I put one in my bag years ago so it's an easy choice for me.

If you can get fitted on a trackman i would go do that. My 4h is my 200 club with almost no rollout (which is exactly what i wanted it to be). But there was tremendous difference between various hybrids and similarly lofted woods. Ultimately settled on TSR2, and it is my most reliable club now. Had never owned a Titleist club and definitely wouldn't have picked it without fitting.

I recently replaced my 3i with a 7 wood and if anything I am hitting the 7w a few yards further.
For a 4i replacement you might look into a 9 wood.
