I didn't watch it when it aired and I don't know what anyone thinks about this show because I stayed away from things talking about it as to not be spoiled.
I liked it. This was the good ole days where they wrote a good story, shot 22 episodes like a real show, and everything tied together nicely at the end.
Good watch.

Fantastic show with a terrific ending. Hated to see it end.

No pun intended, its one of those shows that ends and you feel a bit lost. Like, what do I do now?

J.J, is that you? You're not fooling anyone.

We must have watched a different show.

Network tv. They had to.

This did not happen.
I still truly enjoyed it.

I didn't like the ending on my first watch. However, on all my subsequent rewatches I absolutely loved the ending.

I'm one that loved the Finale. The last season is a mess at times but I really love how it ended.

IMO, the show got a lot better when they knew the exact finite amount of episodes they had left to fit the story into. Things started moving then. But, man - it was REALLY frustrating sometime how little happened.

It's a bit sad that I have to avoid this thread.
Started watching Lost about 2 months ago. I"m in the middle of season 3 now and it's been awesome.
Never saw a second of it when it first aired, and have never watched it after it aired and somehow I have never read or heard any spoilers about it.
Can't imagine having to wait a week for every episode and 6 years for the conclusion to it like it's original run.
It's not often there are so many characters in a show that you actually care about and are interested in their story and arc. Feels like almost every single character that gets screen time has something interesting going on with them, even the ones who were short lived. Was really bummed about Mr. Ecko dying.

You're not one of those "the island was purgatory people", are you?

It was the ultimate water cooler show when it aired IMO. A few of those episodes are amazing.
The only thing that tied together was Jack closing his eye. That show is littered with a thousand easter eggs.

I am currently doing my first rewatch. My wife and kids are also watching and have never seen it. We are in the middle of season 2. 20+ episode seasons are too many episodes.

No. I enjoyed the show but it left way too many things unanswered and just expected the viewer to forget numerous things (mentioned them countless times on here). No it wasn't even close to being a good ending. Good show, awful ending.

Yes. There were moments in the middle where I wasn't sure why they showed that or I just maybe wasn't interested. But then something would happen and suck me back in. It was a few episodes a season that did that.
A lot of you seem to be really frustrated with the ending. I don't get it. No, I don't think purgatory. Regardless of what any of us think about what they were doing on the island/not on the island or what the showrunners meant, the payoff for me, was there. I knew about halfway through, I wanted to see what they were up to off island and I liked the tie in of "this happens if they make it to LA." How they all met up during the season, how they remembered their time on the island, and their final meet up, for me, was well done.

Spoilers . . .
The death of Jack (though we know he lives on - and moves on with his friends) is one of the most heart-wrenching, emotional endings in television history. It’s beautifully acted and directed, and the score (that glorious score) is booming, as Jack lies on his back, watching his friends leave the island on a plane, and this unbridled, unselfish act (what he was always meant to do) culminates in his eye closing for the last time.
Truly a classic.

I will also say I always thought the show was so dense that I would often "forget what I was supposed to be remembering" lol. Like, there would be a decent-sized reveal and it would have little to no impact on me because I couldn't remember how everything connected.

I think the show was important and beautifully shot. It moved the medium forward in ways that probably seem obvious in retrospect, but were pretty innovative at the time. Having said that, to me, it's 2.75 out of 4 stars.
p.s. A pet peeve of mine was always how little Jin seemed able to learn English, even with full immersion for like 2 months.

The Lost episode threads were epic. I miss those days. Every week was a huge discussion. I wish I could find a thread. Seems like TD has purged old threads or it is just impossible to find any way you search.
