LSU 10 penalties for 99 yards

You are not going to win games giving up 99 yards in penalties. I saw a lot of positives when I watched it over again. USC had a couple questionable calls go their way. LSU defense played well although we gave up 378 in the air and only 69 yards on the ground. Questionable play calling?? should have kicked the FG on first possession to..though this is a hard one to swallow LSU will right the ship. The penalties though really hurt LSU. Take that away and I think LSU wins. But, penalties just takes the wind out of the sails. Which is a surprise, LSU usually is focused better than Sunday nights performance.

that is pure LES MILES on the field lack of discipline.
not a good sign at all.

The refs were squarely on one side IMO.

Refs costed us another game. They always have us in their crosshairs.

If yall wonder why we catch shite constantly as a fanbase, it's shite like this. The refs sucked, but they sucked for both teams.

By no means am I saying the officiating cost us the game. But you are a fool if you think this game wasn't call for the most part one way! With that being said, we have to clean up the stupid shite!

So the shotgun blast, removing your helmet and targeting were clearly on the refs?

No, those were unreal idiotic plays. Hard to put the hammer to Lacy when he could easily go get paid more somewhere else. Just where we are.

One of the more disappointing things of the BK era. Players acting like jackasses after making a first down or downfield tackle.

Holy hell, USC linemen were holding on every freaking play.

Like arm around the neck from behind. Blocks in the back…
Officiating, at every single level of football, is my biggest gripe about the sport. I think Jr High football officials should be NFL employees. You HAVE to have an arbitrator on the field…coaches want to win, players want to make coach happy…someone has to hold them accountable. It’s just unreal by big time college and pros…but I think they use that ‘penalties on every play’ (because everyone is trying to get away with everything they can) mentality to control games.
Doesn’t have to be that way.

Right, we were under a microscope, while they just kept their whistles out their mouth for USC. Was one of those extremely frustrating games to watch in that regard.
Right after we were called for that disconcerting signal on a drive, they seemed to kick their kickoff out of bounds and our returner even threw his hands up confused, but the refs gave it no attention at all. Had Kelly fuming.
We deserved most of our calls, but you HAVE to be equitable if you’re going to call a game tight like that.

Exactly right... but even with the horrendous officiating we still should have won that game. Brian Kelly and staff was severely outcoached and did not even try to adjust at all... especially late in the game

There were a few Right Tackle clothes line holds that were not called.
One was on that incredible (but not caught) reviewed catch that went SC’s way.

A 100 yard increment between penalty yardage is worth 7 points. USC had 50 yards and LSU had 99 yards. That's giving up about 3.5 points to USC.

5 for 45 of those were self inflicted.
Snap infraction on Chester
Campbell’s 2 false starts
Lacy and Burns stupidity.

That's nearly an entire field. We gave up an entire fricking field of penalties.

Didn't USC have zero penalties in the first half? You only see shite like that when we're playing Bama. There were a couple of questionable calls on drives on the 2nd half, as well as numerous no-calls on holding by USC.
