How big a liability is Pimpton in run blocking?

Two third down run plays were busted by Pimpton’s assignment. First quarter and a key third and 1 in the fourth that caused a three and out. Never would have thought I’d say Markway was a big loss… but he would have been a physical presence. Pimpton gave the USC defense energy being manhandled by their D ends.

Yep. The USC DE’s had 30 pounds on him too. He’s playing TE at 240 probably needs to be 250

He’s a WR & should be treated as such

If only we had a good blocking TE who played a ton last year that could make those blocks.

So don’t play 12 personnel. Duce Robinson was a TE, now a WR. Do the same with Pimpton and Green.

What’s crazy is early on we saw Perk moved outside and he made some big stops and pressures. Then all of the sudden it’s back to sticking him in spots he doesn’t belong.

Pimpton is not much more of a liability than our offensive line - they can’t run block either.

Everybody is excited about Pimpton and Trae’dez Green, but we need a traditional TE that is a blocker. I think Markway was closer to that than these two. They are going to be great hybrid types, but blocking will be a weakness. Markway may turn out to be a significant loss.

Not just Pimpton our O line could not get the backs a yard when needed. O line got stuffed run blocking. 66 & BK running their mouths about how good the O line is was a joke last night. Will's we gonna punch them in the looks like his big mouth got punched .BK is delusional saying we ran the ball good enough to win.
