My 11 year old had her first day of middle school and did not make it past lunch. We have her on ADHD medicine and it apparently is not enough. We tried talking to her to see if it was one particilar thing she did not like and she said everything was horrible. She goes to a large school and only went to 1 elementary school form K-5. She had a small panic attack last might and it look everyhting my wife and I had to get her to go to sleep. She does not want to go back to school.
Looking for any advice guys.

If she’s having panic attacks, you sure it’s not the amphetamines you’re giving her?
The dose may be too high.

Yes, my 9 year old had severe anxiety. I think her starting kindergarten in a new town during all that Covid bullshite in 20-21 was the root cause. We finally found a therapist that had a very high success rate of helping children over come anxiety. Almost a year of therapy and she is as confident and anxiety free as I have ever seen her

Anxiety my arse.
Kids these days are soft and need tough love! So glad my kids are grown. I hate the word anxiety.
Hey, I have an idea. Go get a prescription for your kids anxiety. Everyone's doing it! Nevermind......you already have her on legal meth. Which I would think is the worse for treating so called....anxiety.

ADHD meds maybe need adjusting? Could be dosed too high.

Fearing my kids would be mental midgets (no I am not saying this about your kid) I have always randomly asked them the question…what is going great in your life and what is the biggest stress you have?
The randomly part is important. You can’t wait the can of coke to explode and then wonder why it happened.
All I do is ask certain questions to allow them to work through their “stresses”. 99.9% of the time their stresses are fantastic first world problems.
Works for us….may/may not work for you.

Anxiety is a side effect. Get your kid off meth

That's why it is important to get kids in sports and programs that builds friends, confidence, etc.
Just give her, her iPad like you probably did when she was a toddler. That should calm her down.
She could also become a furry
Jk, Godspeed. Get counseling for her.

100% agree.
But it's easier for parents to drug their kids than actually talk to them about their day.

Our middle child had pretty bad social anxiety. His first day of school once we arrived he ran and hid under a large table. He looked like a caged animal.
Fortunately one of the teachers took a real liking to him and over the course of the year began working with him. Even with the added help he was still dealing with it in third grade.
He didn’t want folks getting too close unless they were family or people he had been around a lot. It was almost like there was an invisible line around him and if you crossed it, he would have a panic attack.
As he got older it subsided, and by the time he reached HS it was gone for the most part. Now as an adult he doesn’t mind being in close proximity to others, but he is still somewhat awkward with his communications when he meets new people.

Get her a script for Valium or Xanax… that should calm her down

Kids can be so mean at that age. Very tough segment to get through. Cling to God and have her around good people at church or other places as much as possible. This world is worse than when we were kids.

It's the norm these days...EVERY female 4th Grade + "has anxiety".

What activities does she do? Anything in a group setting or is she always alone in the house watching something by herself.
May try waking up a little early and exercising with her, take her out on walks, make her talk to people if y'all go out somewhere (i.e. order her food, get up and ask for things) Push her out of her comfort zones while you are there, so she has that reassurance it will all be ok.
