Besides granite or quartz what is a good alternative to outdoor kitchen table top?

I have been considering changing my granite out for unstained butcher block. I just like the way wood looks.

Concrete looks cool but keep in mind that it is porous, so you will need to seal regularly or coat with some type of permanent coating. I was between concrete and granite for mine. Happy that I ultimately chose granite.

Leathered granite looks good

Definitely leathered for outside. It hides the dust better so you don't have to clean it as often.

we chose Dolomite because we were looking for the veiny look of the marbles and we felt all the granite started looking the same. Its not as porous as marble, not a dense as granite, been having it several years now and no complaints.

I can’t say this enough. Do not do it. Wife’s dad talked her into it for our outdoor kitchen. In the process of putting granite, how it should’ve been.

If you are going to do this, have it coated in epoxy.
Otherwise it will split within a few short years

Did my bar and counter tops out out tongue and groove stained and applied 2 part bar top epoxy. Love it.

Quartz can yellow due to UV exposure.

I know you said besides granite, but you can get some really nice, durable, inexpensive granite installed. This is my delicatus cream granite I had installed in my outdoor kitchen. It goes really nicely with the brick.

Did you match the brick with the brick that's on the front of your house (if you have any)?
I'm planning my patio now, and like the look of the brick you chose, but the front of my house is more of a classic red color and not sure if I should just match the back to my front.

We got granite but it is the underside and called honed. The dealer said you have no glare reflecting off of it. Having it for three years & love it. Only problem is dust from cutting our grass and neighbors.

We have a dark leathered granite and the dust doesn't show.

Just curious - what was your butcher block sealed with? Was there a regular maintenance you had, and if so what was it?
