For next Friday?. Lotus of Siam and Golden Steer are two of the best, but I’d assume they’re booked. Try Vic & Anthony’s on Fremont

Maggiano's Little Italy is pretty good. Not "off the strip" but it isn't in a casino.

I had a great time and good food and beer at the Hofbrauhaus on my last visit.

I also eat quite a bit in Chinatown, with many restaurants to choose from, and they're off-strip local's prices.

Hofbrauhaus

ETA: My experience wasn't goofy like the website depicts in that link. I had decent German food with a live band.

I'll end up here frequently because it's just a couple of blocks from the strip, with Tupac's memorial on that walk.

They've got a killer Reuben, decent prime rib and plenty of other food choices for extremely reasonable prices. They also brew beer on the premises, and the last time I was there I had a flight of six relatively large beers for just $8. I thought it was a misprint because one could expect just one of those beers to be eight bucks on the strip, but things are just that inexpensive at Ellis Island.

They're also known for very low minimums on craps and blackjack but the air in the casino isn't very good though and can get very smoky.

This one is on my radar. I have been hearing about it for years but have never been there. Is it worth the cab ride from the strip? Staying at the Venetian.

It’s close to the Venetian.

We stay at Wynn/Encore and eat there almost every trip…….the ossobuco is outstanding.
