Supposedly Savion Jones has finally emerged as a force during fall camp?

That’s what I heard on the radio on WWL this morning. Have any of you guys heard about this, and do you have any more specifics on what he’s doing well?

Him breaking out would be tremendous news for a defensive unit that needs all the help it can get.

A force? Hell I would be ecstatic if he just set the edge one time on a running play!!!

he has to be one of the biggest disappointments last season because in 2022 he actually made some plays
they need him to become a force in the sec

I’ve heard the same but I’m tempering expectations until he and the rest of the defense prove in a game they can slow down an opponent.

One of the main podcasts (either 247 or On3) mentioned he looked like he was in better shape, moving faster, and having more of a impact. They mentioned how that was a big issue last year and how much slower he looked last year than the previous season.

If we had a true threat at DE it would be a significant step forward.

I hope it’s true.

Coaching/scheme makes a huge difference. Even Perkins looked terrible last year.

Not replacing Lindsey with a new DL coach when he started his LOA last spring was a huge mistake by Kelly.

Lindsey stepped away in August, not the spring.

I hope he breaks out. Seems like a humble and good young man.

If you remember his freshman year when he did get playing time, he was very effective. I think he's capable but was too heavy last year. I even read somewhere he was giving Jones all he could handle in Fall practice. I'm always gonna believe it only when I see it but I'm feeling optimistic at least.

With the overhaul on d-staff, it cant help but improve. No way we field another 115th ranked defense. Top 60 is ab what I'm thinking

The question is how big of a step back does the offense take. I don't think it's a far as some pundits believe. It will just look a little different.
