The weaponizing of “fake school zones” now since constitutional carry has passed.

Isn’t it convenient that these places were never thought as a “school” but now rogue democrats such as Blanco think that they can just rewrite the law whenever they choose and now we, once again, as law abiding citizens, have to wait 2-5 years until this is settled in court. Don’t dare think that your rights are restored as long as it’s in court, they are only restored until the court rulings will be settled.

So from my understanding, the city of Lafayette owns the property and facility, uses city wide taxes to fund the facility, but because ULaLa operates it, it magically becomes a school. Mind you the children’s museum right behind it isn’t considered “a school.”

Louisiana law defines a campus as
quote:how can this ever be considered school property when the university does not own the museum nor the property that it sits upon. The real kicker to all this, Louisiana already has a clause of
2) "School campus" means all facilities and property within the boundary of the school property.
quote:the 2nd amendment has zero talks about “school zones.” Therefore this law is prohibiting my constitutional authority to bear a firearm. My right to bear a firearm is a constitutionally protected activity, hence the term “constitutional carry.”
The provisions of this Section shall not apply to: 5) Any constitutionally protected activity which cannot be regulated by the state, such as a firearm contained entirely within a motor vehicle.

NOPD has designated an area in the French Quarter as a "school" recently IIRC.

If anything, arm free school zones are the most idiotic ideas I’ve heard of.
Let’s announce to the world that nobody here has guns in case you want to come cause some trouble!

If any type or kind of goooooooooooooooooooooberment official can carry a gun in a "gun free" zone, then an American citizen can as well. The 2nd Amendment is to keep them in check.

You know who doesn't recognize school zone gun laws?

The 2nd amendment has zero talks about having guns inside any public place. Like a courtroom, a prison, an airport, the state capitol, the White House, etc. All are public places, so all should allow any citizen to carry a gun, right?

After all, how does the criminal feel when everyone else is carrying?

Yes. Shall not be infringed means shall not be infringed.

It sure the hell doesn’t have wording about some arbitrary 1000 feet magical radius. I’m not discussing about having guns in a school, I’m worried about minding my own business at a sandwich shop or a music store or anything that the school doesn’t freaking own and bam, i’m now a felon because “mUh YoUrE WiThIn 1000 FeEt.”

So says all the criminals that murder people in the Quarter every week.

We need a law which strips elected officials of their positions and bars them from ever holding another public office in the state when they are found attempting to flout a law in such an obvious manner. Until these people are hit where it hurts (their pocketbook and attempt to wield power illegally), this kind of shite will continue.
Don't like the law? Repeal it or legitimately pass whatever changes you want to it. Wasting time and money by trying to play word games with a law you simply don't like (especially one passed with such wide support) should be considered a crime.

Hmmm. Let me think. who was it that started this unconstitutional mess?
I seem to remember a senator Biden who introduced a bill to the senate, and got it passed, in regards to guns in schools.

For those that don't know, that's a Pic of the transpretender who killed 3 seniors, and 3 children in the Christian school.
Yes, radicals don't give 2 shets about gun free zones, other than it makes them easier targets!

Yes.
Public spaces with free access are valid constitutional carry locations. Prisons, schools, courtrooms and all other government properties belong to the people.
I as a citizen am awarded the assumption of innocence until I act unlawfully, especially when it comes to the exercise of the right to bear arms. That is why it was added as an amendment to the Constitution. I have the right to visit a prison, school, courtroom, or congressional meeting etc. while armed and not be treated with suspicion or alarm. Vulnerable individuals (officials, judges, defendants, prisoners, students etc ) who may be targeted by criminals in these places should be protected by barriers and access limitations not by treating innocent people like criminals and infringe their right to self defense of themselves and others.
If any non public (privately owned)space wants to limit weapons for security reasons, then admission to that (limited and defined) space should be restricted, possibly ticketed and secured with pat downs and metal detectors. Lockers should be required to be provided for constitutional carry individuals to store their weapon while in a restricted zone.

Yes, but the 2A is not about "allowing" anything. The 2A says the government cannot infringe upon your God-given right to keep and bear arms. it's only the tolerance of tyranny, by either judges, justices, or the legislature, that makes people think the government has any right to "allow" anything regarding keeping and bearing arms.
