Whos going to play safety?

Opposite of Tyrann? Coach Allen made.it clear they need someone to step up and take the position. Then it's been talked about the staff not trusting Howden.
It was only one play but Howden did himself no favors yesterday when he was in position for a stop but instead let a 49ers run through a weak shoulder tackle for a score.
Who will end up the starter?

What was worse, Howden almost whiffing* on the QB run, or when Abram buried his head, hit Wright in the back, then wrapped up Wright's legs while Wright was trying to tackle the WR

We're sort of in trouble at the position when you also consider Tyrann is pretty old, we might need two starters sooner than later

All I am saying is at least Howden attacked, and got a hand on, the player for the opposing team. All of Abrams' contact on that play was friendly fire

Dobbs made an athletic play to scamper over the Howden hit to make the TD. 24 NFL starting QBs would have been stopped.

Marcus Williams made a whiff on Stephon Diggs in a PLAYOFF game and turned out to be a pretty good player. Let Howden make is mistakes now in the preseason. He'll be ok

Mathieu and Howden. Howden is far from a perfect option but he’s physical and not afraid to put his nose in the action.
