For what he's done with the offensive line. It's crazy to reflect on how Kelly has transformed the hot mess he inherited from Orgeron at OL into likely the most elite unit in the country. Drastic turnaround in three years.
LSU OL ranked #1 in country
LSU OL ranked #1 in SEC

Yeah, going from a huge question mark and having to start two true freshmen and two sophomores to a top 5 OL in college football in two seasons is really something. And the recruiting to keep it going has been very strong, as well.

Not taking away anything from Kelly and co, but it sure helped having the 2 best tackles in the country in state. Was a great year for LA HS lineman.

OL are CEO signees;

but if you want to give him credit go ahead; I like to call it doing what we are paying him $95M to do.

PS….if he fricks around and let’s USC beat us for the 5th straight opening game loss, he best be made of Tungsten bc the world will frickn melt!!!!

Nope. Dellinger was the only one. O was fired long before the end of the season and most of his last class class fell apart. Do you really think coaches weren’t throwing some impressive offers at Campbell and Jones to bolt? Frazier was a Kelly portal commit and. Chester and all of the depth behind the starters came from Kelly.

Kelly kept Campbell and Jones here when he kept Brad Davis. I guess you can give credit to O for making one good hire out of the 50 he tried his last two seasons if that makes you feel better.

Loss in game one means playoffs are a pipe dream and probably looking at 3-4 more losses.

It was so crazy when we traded players with Oregon.

Heck, I'll be grateful when we just have a handful of posters on this board who can tell the difference between "lineman" and "linemen."

3 losses will be a joke for this team. If he loses 3 or more his seat better be warm

This is probably one of the worst alters on this board.

This is the opposite logic of what was / was not a Miles recruit vs a Saban recruit.

LSU hasn’t had a OL drafted in 1st round since Faneca in 98.

BK shows up & LSU might have two go in the 1st round

I’m not an Ed orgeron fan by any means, I was just objectively stating what each coach has done for lsu program.

CEO won lottery (no pun intended) w Burrow, but he still won. Kelly so far hasn’t won shite, except the hearts of the rotary and key clubs.

OL was the position I was mot confident in Kelly producing an elite unit year in and year out. He has a very good proven track record with lineman. Going to be a fun season with those big uglies.

I mean Kelly just had to fire his entire defensive staff after just 2 years and rehired multiple guys that were on the previous staff…

To be fair, he essentially inherited the two best players. Let’s see how his recruits play before throwing too many bouquets

I don’t disagree with that. However, he didn’t go tell every radio station in three states who he was chasing, miss on them, and end up with a guy who had never been a big-time DC. He ended up with an objectively high-end staff with a good to great track record across the board. At least he fixed his mess.

I will revise my previous statement, though. O did hire Blake Baker, but that’s still just two good hires out of two years of a revolving door.
