Accidentally brushed up against some in a bundle of tree limbs I cut down.

I hate this shite. It went airborne it's on my eyelids, it's on my stomach it's down the back of my neck, both arms and both legs and foot good measure, a couple places on my dick.

I had a big arse steroid shot and some industrial strength cortisone but there's nothing to be done but ride it out and try not to make it more weepy.

I look like I have elephantiasis.

That sucks. If it makes you feel better, I can roll around in it and nothing.

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. The steroid shot will help, but I was given Predisone too. Also go to Wal Mart and get this. It helped.

I am the same way and always have been. I can remember as a really small child, talking 3-6 years old, getting to the neighbors house behind and catty corner us by squeezing through the poison ivy growing between the two types of fences (we and the back doors neighbor had chain link the side neighbor had a overgrown wood fence). Stuff was so thick Dad couldn’t get after it due to being allergic.

Same here. I can remember sitting on the river side of the Miss. River levee as a kid with my day with our backs resting against a retaining wall covered in this lush green vine and a guy came along and said we were crazy for doing that in poison ivy.

Neither my dad nor I suffered any ill effects from it. I've encountered it many times in the woods with no reaction whatsoever. And I'm very glad for that because it looks miserable.

Take it from someone who knows this stuff very personal from his 57 years. I grew up on a 980 acre farm and had this shite 5 times a year

The shot is the best possible thing that will ever happen to you once you see it coming up. You can also get a booster the next day. frick the creams, rubs, pills and all that nonsense.

The steroid shot is the ONLY way to go. Good luck and hope it goes away fast

It does suck a lot. As everyone else has said, get the shot.

One saving grace, get the water going as hot as you can stand it to the touch. Then put one of your itchy rash spots under that water. It feels so good you may cum in your britches. Takes all of the itch out of it at once, also use this time to wash it with dawn dish soap it will help dry it out.

If it makes you feel better, there is no such thing as immunity and your sensitivity will only increase with exposure over time.

I beg to differ. About 10-15 percent of people are immune to poison ivy and will never develop a rash from it.

However, no matter how much you are exposed to it if it affects you, you will not develop an immunity with repeated exposures.

I'm one of those people who went from immune to sensitive at about 45. I don't get a bad reaction, but I am now super cautious and can spot the 3 leaves easily. Hard part is dealing with poison ivy mixed in with Virginia creeper.

My wife is very sensitive and seems innately unable to recognize the leaf pattern... useful excuse to minimize yard work.

You can buy scrubs specifically for poison ivy, but I've found plain Lava soap or a mechanics' liquid scrub just as effective if you take the time to wash and rinse twice. Of course, once the rash appears it's too late.

I used to think people that people that were allergic to poison ivy were pussies. Actually, I still do.

Nah, kidding. Anyone who risks getting covered in blisters from doing yard work but still goes out and does it anyway is a baw in my book. Not sure if its true but I've heard Mexicans have no immunity and routinely get ate up with it due to their usual occupations. Like unable to work for multiple days ate up. That would super suck.

Damn that looks bad. Poison oak would do that to me as a kid. I can spot it a mile away now, so I try to avoid it, if possible. I remember putting steaming hot water on it in the shower for relief.

I can’t look at it without getting it but have a neighbor who can pull it off trees bare-handed.
