Came across this article. Holy mackerel

quote:

Eighty-four percent of Colombia’s children were born outside of marriage, a record in Latin America, according to a global study.

The report, prepared by the Child Trends and Social Trends Institute gathered information from 49 countries.

The document, compiled with eight academic partners such as universities and institutes around the world, including the Sabana University in Colombia’s capital Bogota, addresses 16 indicators and focuses on four areas: family structure, family socioeconomic aspect, family processes and family culture.

Regarding the family structure, it points out that most children in the world live in households with two parents. However, in South America more than half of children are born to single mothers.

Colombia, in particular, reported the highest rate in the region, with 84%.

Walter Payton's home town! Knowing the demographics of Columbia, MS, I'm not surprised.

I legit entertained the idea of buying cocaine from a 13 yr old kid in Medellin. Lil guy was about 5’1 and 96 lbs soaking wet, with slicked back hair and neck tats that JR Smith would envy.

Hold up... "Out of wedlock" does not mean the single mom from the Kulture you may be imagining according to the article:

quote:

With 27%, Colombia also has the highest rate of children living with only one parent, this means that three out of ten children live only with either their mother or father.

So, more than 70% have a man and a woman in the "house." While not great, the US statistics for black kids is 63%, defined as:

quote:

In this definition, single-parent families may include cohabiting couples and do not include children living with married stepparents.

I find US statistics questionable, because while you may be in jail, your mailing address still may be one of your baby momma's abodes.

Has Adrian Peterson been to Columbia?

If no, this statistic makes no sense ...

I’d wager he was probably 42, but that’s no reason not to buy from him all the same

I’ve read comments on Twitter/X posts as to why some think that’s a thing.

There are too many murders of children by the unrelated live in boyfriends. Is that just a USA thing, or is it more international?
Or is it just not reported or investigated in 3rd world and worse countries?
