I love Trump, loved Ron Paul (who also proposed this). Saying that, I'm against this. I believe in less Federal gov't, but not with security and education. The amount of illiterate people collapsed once D of E came about.

They just changed the definition of “illiterate” to prop themselves up.

If I'm wrong, I'll admit. Would like to see some links though. I'll be voting Trump this year but disagree with this. I don't like everything from D of E, I just don't think I want Louisiana politics running our children's education either.

Your mistake is believing that this was because of the DOE, instead of in spite of it.

I just don't have faith in Louisiana to be any better for our kids, if anything it would be worse.

They’re doing so well with higher education these days as well.

I dunno about that. The more Washington gets involved the dumber our students become.

Close it down for bad results.

State entities are already running every meaningful aspect of it now. The federal DOE exists to employ a couple hundred thousand useless people and introduce general mandates and standards that don’t fit most of the systems they force them on.

I appreciate the replies. I'll just be the cuck on P talk for now I would like to see some links but if I'm wrong I'm good with being wrong. That and getting rid of Federal forests (turning them private) was 2 things I was against Ron Paul on. Maybe I haven't looked into it since his days and I had bad information though.

Public education has tanked since the DOE’s inception. It’s an awful model to actually educate students. The money behind it allows for bloated administrators and corruption.

When he had the chance, he sold the Dept to Betsy Devos whose goal was to collapse it. Why didn’t he do it the first time?

What’s his plan for federal research funds? Eliminate all federal R&D immediately?

All his “policies” are skin deep. He just says shite in hope that something resonates.

My understanding was always that education rose steadily until late 60s and since the DOE was formed in late 80s the metrics have fallen every year. We used to be damn near the best in the world and now we are #27th.
