We had multiple threads predicting the Presidential election was going to be canceled, the U.S. dollar was on the verge of collapse, the Fed was going to call a special meeting to lower interest rates drastically on Monday, Monday stock trading would be shortened and we were in a "global meltdown."

All because U.S. stock index futures were down two or three percent on Sunday night.

Here's one thread...emergency Fed meeting predicted

Another one...Fed will cut rates 2 full percent at a special meeting

Here's the one about the Presidential election would be canceled...

Stock trading would be curbed and Monday's trading would be shortened...

Global meltdown

It was a bit rediculous but it's not often a country's index falls 12% in one day AND on the same day Warren Buffett sells half his holdings.

I was worried for a couple of hours there.

Well, when the jobs report, inflation, and VIX doin' what it did, you'd be thinking as well as most of the investors out there.

Longer term, buy and hold. DCA. DRIPs.

But still, we haven't seen something like that correction since the COVID crash.

CPI inflation data is coming out August 14. Buckle up!

Except he didn’t. He sold sometime in the previous quarter but it was just reported on Berkshire’s required regulatory quarterly filing.

Usually the MT is more reasoned than the PT.

It wasn’t for that moment in time.

Without opening any of those threads, did you disagree with any of them in real time?

Thank you.

Actually, I was gloating Sunday night when the meltdown was in progress not “after the fact.”

If CPI comes out at or above 3% again, a rate cut in September is off the table. Especially when considering this:

He hasn’t posted again using that screen name since 7 minutes after the U.S. markets opened on Monday morning. No idea why….
