This video caught my attention because I had the same thought a few days ago. I do not understand how a professing Christian can vote Democrat

I’m not sure there’s any poster on this board who understands religion less than you do.

A Christian can, of course, vote Democrat.

Christians can do all sorts of ill-advised things.

I do think being an advocate of the modern iteration of the party or being a progressive calls is hard to reconcile with being a faithful Christian, however.

It doesn’t say “support Caesar even when he’s evil” now does it?

Voting for Democrats is supporting evil.

How does that translate into voting Democrat? There are two options. Aren't I giving to Ceasar if I vote Republican?

Caesar was literally evil when he said that

"Caesar" killed Jesus, in fact

Yeah. Im sure if Jesus came back he would agree that Trump is a perfect representation of the ideals he espoused in the Gospels.

Its actually hard to think of anyone less Christ-like than Trump and Trump/MAGA has singlehandedly done more to damage the church than anyone in recent history

You can make a lot of arguments that socialism is Christian. Who exactly is he trying to convince, here? Black baptists? That’s about the only pro-dominantly Christian demographic that I know of that pro-dominantly votes Democrat. Good luck with that.

This is a stupid point to make from Charlie Kirk and I wish he would stfu about this stuff because he is a really smart dude. Just leave politics and religion separate.

Mixing politics with religion is only going to work with people who agree with you on both, otherwise it’s like telling people 2+2 = 5

Government and religion are 2 very different things

It's the same response when Leftists call Conservatives un-Christian, FWIW

A rebuke of Trump is not a strong defense of the Democrats/left, mind you

He would not. He would see a coarse man with a large ego. And would probably advise him to sell all he had and follow him.

That is typically the angle Leftists use to make the same argument (reversed polarity) that Kirk is making.

He's just engaging in partisan extremism by creating a more solidified in/out group, because now, anyone who questions the message is now more easily threatened with being labeled evil.

Man you are a dolt. Support (voting for) and paying taxes / following laws are not the same thing. I can’t believe I had to explain that to someone that claims to be super smart and superior to the rest of us.

I still don't think this makes your point.

Christianity was/is inherently political. If the "politics" of Christianity are in direct contrast with either political movement, therein lies the rub.

Kirk addresses this in the video if you feel like watching it. If not, the tl;dr version is we're not voting for the most Christlike candidate. We're voting for the candidate whose policies do not support evil
