Lyles - last out of the blocks to win by 5/1000
or
Hocker...I timed about a 53 last 400
Or
Scheffler ...29 on the back 9
Or
Other that I'm missing

(Not including that 10000 finish but it was great)

Overall fantastic drama

Hocker by a mile (almost literally). I was at work watching it on our big screen and yelled with excitement. I couldn't tell you the last time I did that. Probably the Bama and Georgia national championship OT game.

There was just a natural shock to see it happen live. You had the two hated rivals going at it and the underdog from your country starts gaining on them, then gets blocked and you feel like his chances are over then all of a sudden he has another gear and pulls it out.

when hocker got tripped up on the home stretch and had to stutter/reset I thought for sure he was done for. That made his finish even more unbelievable.

I know its not a USA gold, actually losing out on the gold, but Femke Bol coming back on the last leg of the 4x400 mixed was pretty dramatic.

For me so far

1. Hocker 1500m Gold
2. Women's 7s bronze finish
3. Fisher 10000m bronze finish

I was coming back to add this.... That 47.9 split was pretty epic .. Though it cost the US a gold

Hodgkinson putting the hammer down to run away with the 800 was my favorite so far.

The Kristen Faulkner road race win deserves to be mentioned.

Golf was fantastic this year and what Scotti did was incredible, but as far as excitement goes, it would be hard to top Lyles for me.

The 100m is about as exciting as it gets in general, no matter the finish, but to have it be that close was just incredible.

Womens rugby brother and it isn't close. Just need to watch last 12 seconds. Literally broke 2 tackles on her own end of the field, clock went to zero as she crossed the 50.

Fantastic.

Hell yes. I have never seen such a devastating attack as that for a finish and nobody even attempted to go after her.

Fisher 10k bronze was pretty special. Somehow I missed the Hocker race and hate myself for it. I didn’t see Faulkner in real time either but that was the best story to me. No one even knew who she was going in.

Faulkner road race was my favorite moment so far. I watched that damn race for like 4 hrs in the background and the commentators talking about the Dutch and Belgian girls. Then boom, she smoke them at the end. The other American rider falling and splitting up the pack was helpful.

Thanks for bringing this up... Didn't see any of that but just watched highlights and that was a wild fantastic finish

I don't believe that thread is finished yet. Still plenty toting water for him.
