Anyone familiar with a Whippet?

Almost all of the rap podcasts I watch now have guests doing whippets right on the podcast. By the end of the episode they sound faded as frick. What's the story with these head shops selling these xl bottles of whippets that advertise like 100 hits a can. Is it only a short term high for a few seconds?

Called whippets because it used to be people inhaling the split second of nitrous acting as an accelerant in compressed cans of whipped cream. Yes, very short high. But it was very cheap and very easy for teenagers to get their hands on.
