I would like to watch Mondo Duplantis complete. Does anyone know the tv schedule for men’s pole vaulting?

Why is he not wearing Red/White/Blue today?

Is he wearing Blue & Yellow to show support for Ukraine?

Hard to pull for the guy. From Lafayette, went to LSU and representing Sweden. His excuse is track and field is more popular there.

the frick it is... yeah, would love to see him in red, white, and blue, but he's a GREAT representative of the purple and gold, and I will forever be thankful for what he did while here...

Mondo can probably come in and win gold with one jump then try to break his own world record.

Still can't tell if the finals will be on TV tomorrow.

He's the greatest pole vaulter of all-time. It doesn't matter. He would always qualify.

He is from Doucet Road in Lafayette. Never spent more than a vacation in Sweden growing up. Played SLYSI baseball. Attended Lafayette High. Attended LSU.

He made the decision to not represent Team USA.

I know he's a Tiger so some of you will pull for him regardless, and I cannot fault you for that. But any non-LSU supporting American should hope this idiot chokes on his gold medal.

I don't agree with him jumping for his mom's country. He was born here and this country made it possible for him to be as good as he is.

Because the Sweden federation and public at large treats its T&F stars better across the board than the USA does.

Acting like this is some traitorous act is rich when literally everyone on this board would do the same thing for the financial gain alone.

How did his country do that?

Like I understand he trained in America in his backyard, but are you under the impression that could’ve only happened here and nowhere else?

It's sports. We have our favorite teams. We root against the other teams.

When the Bengals play the Saints, I don't root for Joe Burrow.

The U.S. is my favorite team. This dude plays for the other team.

I will not root for him to beat my favorite team.

You bring up a good point.

I've known athletes in the "smaller" Olympic sports (that doesn't have professional leagues to make money or have major sponsorships) have to literally go on WIC/Food Stamps in order to be able to afford to train for the Olympics.

Why, in this country, are they having to do that? Why are we not providing quality housing, training funds, etc. for them to represent our country?

Mondo is simply a symptom of that.

This has been greatly blown out of proportion. Us track stars get far more publicity especially on the global scale than a Swedish star ever will

He chose Sweden for ease of qualification and his father being let on the coaching staff
