PSA - ads on stadium video boards and around the field are GOOD for the program.

NIL, facilities, etc. all benefit from corporate sponsorships/donations.
Quit whining about ads on the new scoreboard, it's retarded thinking.
Thanks

I agree. I just think they could be incorporated/integrated better.

Ads are fine, but they’re not consistent. You have 20 year old signage in different parts of the stadium that hasn’t been updated. Get rid of static ad boards and update them to show on the ribbon boards. Maybe have a uniform color that they need to be in so they don’t stick out like a sore thumb.

A coke ad is not going to make me get up and get one

You have no choice though. The money in Coke being there isn't the signage. It's in the pouring rights.
Coke
Dasani
Powerade
Body Armor
Fanta
Minute Maid
Gold Peak Tea
Jack Daniels
Schweppes
Sprite
Smartwater
Vitamin Water
If you need a drink other than beer in Tiger Stadium you are buying a Coke product. The signage is thrown in on top.

Two points, LSU's specific use of video ads in Tiger Stadium is both bad for the ads and bad for the fans, somehow at the same time.
The static ads rendered the usable part of the video board too small, and because they were static, they basically didn't function as ads to anyone who had been to a game at the stadium as they were trained to ignore them.
The ribbon boards were so saturated with ads, on the other hand, I never looked at them because they never showed the information I wanted in terms of game stats or other scores.
Overall, they are symptoms of the same problem that continues to plague LSU sports, nothing is ever improved for large swaths of the fan experience. The improvements are always tailored to big donor experiences or small corners of the stadium (that other fans can't get to from their seats). The search for more money rarely ever is targeted at the fan experience for most fans who attend games.

Good?
no. they aren't good.
But we all understand they are necessary, and we can bitch about them while knowing they are necessary.

Just puts the ads anywhere other than the video board.
I don’t give a shite about ads on the internet.
But I sure as shite don’t want a bar across the top of my phone that never goes away.
This shite isn’t one or the other. You can have ads AND use your full video board. This isn’t 1997.

Are you an accountant for TAF?

The entire board itself is digital outside of where the monitors are.

I don't have a problem with Ads that SCROLL off and on during the breaks in action.
I totally HATE big permanent ads that never go away.
They're cheap and tacky looking.
And, LSU is a bigger "Tacky and Cheap" offender than anybody else in the SEC.
