I don't understand the point of polling "favorability" at this juncture versus just "who do you want for president?"

That’s a favorability rating of registered voters not an Election Day poll and it says nothing of the voter mix they used

I started a thread about this same thing. Over the weekend Fox has repeatedly had on libs that were banging the drum for Harris. I am really confused at their narrative

Like it doesn't play into a person's choice when voting.
Trump's unfavorability is dismal and he refuses to do anything to improve it.
Harris' will drop once some people get to know her a bit better, but won't likely get as low as Biden's.

Agreed, it's not an election poll, per se, but it's still a poll. I mean, FOX is calling it one. It's a favorability rating poll that has some meaning, right? Let's hope not, but I'm still a little confused about how she could have a 10-point favorability lead over Trump in Michigan. The closer ones are toss-ups and make sense to me given her recent entry into the election but ten points is well beyond that.
