Vars Pizza BR: Anyone tried it yet?

I'm assuming Ivar's owns the restaurant but I was wondering if anyone had tried it out yet and had any reports since I think I want to go there this week. I'm also curious what style of pizza they make if anyone has had it.

I’ve seen some reports on google review. Very interested in trying it but i have a 1 month rule. Let it find its footing

Trying it tonight. Will report back. So far the scene is much better than Unleaded. Bar is stocked with standard liquors and beers, along with a fridge for what looked like seltzers.
Menu is pretty big. $18 for small/$27 for large. Small seems very small, large seems somewhat appropriate for non-chain. I'll try to get a photo of the menu.

Meat Puppet. Bacon is crispy. Italian sausage is somewhat crumbly in a good way. They use the cup style pepperoni which I like although I'm jot sure what the stance is on pizza purists. Looking around there seems to be an inconsistency with crust. Some are cooked well, others could probably be cooked longer. Lots of flop in the pizza (according to Portnoy that's no bueno.) I enjoy it. Probably tastes better late at night after a few drinks. I'll have to try some others to give a better opinion.

Damn that looks like a good pizza thanks for the report back! I’ll definitely have to go try it now

I'd say 7.5/10 for sure. Mrs. BTB (no pics) eats all my crusts nowadays so maybe my taste for crust is off and I have no idea what good crust tastes like anymore. Ingredients were on point and I'd like to try a normal pepperoni pizza next time.

I'm not a big eater, but I would destroy that pizza. Looks damn good.

I would definitely crush the crust with some type of garlic butter dipping sauce and maybe that's what I'm missing.

Instead of editing I'll add:
Fridge has more bottled beers than seltzers. All the beer taps had cups over them so I'm assuming they do not have the tap system working at this time.
Inside has a comic book theme along the walls. Reminds me of Gaines Street Pies in Tallahassee.
Only one entrance (left of the patio) and goes directly behind two tables to the counter. They have glass pizza warming stations but didn't have them operating. I'm guessing they are going to be for ordering by the slice, however the paper menu did not feature that as an option. I didn't look for that on the menh above the counter because it has A LOT going on. They should probably roll that order by the slice out soon since you can gain a lot of markup on a single slice order vs. an entire pie.

I don't care what the pizza purists think, I love those little grease holding cups.
I assume that was the large? How big was it?

It was a large. I want to say at least 14 inch diameter? I can go measure it out later for lunch.

The pizza place owned by Edwin Edward's grandson named a pizza Fast Eddies. Nice touch or cringe? I'm not sure which.
Side note: I see in the picture that they have those uncomfortable metal chairs. I hate when resuarants have those.

It's 16".
Also, can confirm it tastes great the next day. Apparently I had a hollow crust on one piece last night. Upgrading to 8/10.

The only thing I'd fault based on that pic is the 2+ inches of crust before you even get to the cheese and toppings. I hate a pizza that does that.
Everything else looks rather on point.

If the large is 16”, I’m guessing the small is 12”?

I think so. Looks very close to a Lit/Blaze sized pizza.

Tried it tonight.... easily worst pizza in BR...we spent 93$.. 2 large pizzas, 3 beers, 2 soft drinks... The "pepperoni af" pizza was 80% grease... brought half home for some reason but will not eat...the other was half fast Eddie and half mid city...best I could say on those were they were edible.... extremely soggy had to be eaten with a fork on the provided paper plate which became soggy after 1 piece...the service was pretty much as expected to be.. bad ...since they just opened ....45 min to get food .. multiple tables were brought wrong pizzas while we were there.....not sure how since you order at counter then get a number for the table and one table got their pizza then 20min later got it again..lol... hopefully they revamp the recipes and I know the service will get better, the atmosphere was nice except for the bar set up...had to order alcohol at the bar but food at the counter

Those pepperonis remind me of miniature frozen pizzas you put in the microwave.
