Two All Time Great College Pitchers
The Defense From Both Teams from the first inning on. Specifically Morgan’s play on the Safety Squeeze. A well executed push bunt in a first and third situation is almost indefensible. You have to hold the runner on causing a late break. The bunt was perfect. What Morgan did was one of the greatest defensive plays in the history of the college game.
The Walk Off
This is a top 5 game in school history regardless of the sport.
It may be the best College Baseball Game in history from first pitch to last.

Rhett Lowder was a stud, not many could throw out a pitcher that could go pitch for pitch, batter for batter, inning for inning with him. Glad we had Paul.

yeah this game was incredibly fun.
Skenes and Lowder were good enough to make 9 scoreless innings insanely intense and fun.
Tommy White with a legendary walk off and Morgan with the elite play on the bunt.

Great game. Far too many on here bitched about it. Name another game where every single pitch mattered that much.

I have been a season ticket holder since 1987 and can say..........
There have been MANY great defensive plays in LSUBB history, but one has to be in at least the top 3, if not #1. As Tiger baseball fan we have been blessed more than any other program to witness great coaches, great players, great plays and seven national championships.
That said, the 2023 season was exceptionally special.

By far the most stressed I've ever been watching an LSU game regardless of sport. Glad we hung on to win. Was a classic.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I also believe LSU and Wake Forest were the only teams to be ranked #1 during the season. I know there are several polls for baseball but they were clearly the best teams that season.
This game felt like THE championship final, it was hyped a ton and it delivered with all the big moments already mentioned.

Spent 12 day up there, well worth the trip! Games like that, you can watch over and over again.
