I decided to pick up a few boxes of ammo today. No telling if it’s gonna go off here soon or not

Never a bad time to buy ammo but imo we are a loooong way off from anything "happening". Vast majority of people on both sides of the isle live comfortable lives. Its going to have to get much worse before we are ready to give that up.

This x1000, the general populace must go through more dire straights to do anything serious. You can't go back once you commit to something of that magnitude.

Especially if you have a family, you are losing/killing your former self in that aspect.

There will be a bunch of panic buying for sure.

You're wrong, my friend.

I was a combat soldier for over 22 years. During that time, and since my retirement, I've amassed a decent amount of land and wealth. A lot of it through hard work, some of it by blind luck.

I now fish every day I want and work my farm. I could move to any zip code in the country. I have more to lose than just about anybody, but I'm more willing to put it on the line right now than when I had nothing.

Once you taste true freedom (including financial freedom), you won't ever go back.

Not in this case, IMO. You are an exception, not a standard. You have seen what it is really like to not have freedom. The very high majority of the population has not...Harry, Dick, and Tom from the local neighborhood would not just pick up arms and meet you on the corner.

I myself would not...because if I were to leave my home and family and take up arms against this country and whatever oppressive regime would try and take our freedoms or harm my family. I would be effectively leaving my family to die for them to defend them.

If people were to get to that level...to leave their cushioned lives and families, we will not be the same. I'm telling you, the veteran community could do this much easier than the regular populace. If we get to that point, shite will have gotten bad and people will be suffering rather horribly. Otherwise they are not be oppressed enough to make that ultimate decision.

Good deal. But surely you realize you are a very small minority?

Funny how a bunch of men had to make this same decision about 248 years and a week ago

Trump will hire a team to find that bullet.

It will be in a glass case on his desk.

It might be in the head of the poor spectator that was killed. It would be in bad taste if he made a big deal about him getting grazed while one of his supporters was killed and 2 others in critical. Just acknowledge it and ask for prayers for the deceased and the injured.

Yeah, but you don't need to give me too much of a push. I typically buy ~500 rds of 9mm a month. Order needs to be $200 for free shipping, so I'll throw in some random things. This just reminded me to do it, haha.

Eh i think we are a long way off from that. When folks start dying of malnutrition instead of obesity then I'll worry.

Politics in tense times are driven by the fringes. The normal, quiet people in the middle who want to be left alone get dragged along for the ride.

Most of this board isn’t of the demographic that actually does the fighting: young, somewhat desperate men. They’re not nearly as happy and comfortable. I don’t think many of them would need that much inducement if the right person were asking.
