Louisiana is pretty much shitty for everyone who isn’t a politician or plaintiff’s attorney.

Why is Texas rated worse for Quality of Life?

Because liberals ran that study. And any red state automatically lost a ton of points.

Yep, the powers that be in Louisiana wish to remain the powers that be.

why Texas low quality of life
I'll have to take a focused look.
But, it's usually because there are a frick load of uninsured border jumpers in Texas. Somehow, by progressive "logic" that's reflective of my quality of life in Sugarland etc.

From the methodology statement to confirm - “And with surveys showing a sizeable percentage of younger workers would not live in a state that bans abortion, we factor reproductive rights in this category as well.”

But California (the state with open air toilets) is rated rather highly for QoL.

Some of their metrics and results in them are laughable. Texas at 50 for Quality of Life but Minnesota at 4? Lol yeah okay.

Alaska is so low because the Biden admin has gutted the oil and gas industry. Absolutely devastated that beautiful state.

From the methodology:
quote:
We rate the states on livability factors like per capita crime rates, environmental quality, and health care. We look at worker protections. We look at inclusiveness in state laws, including protections against discrimination of all kinds, as well as voting rights, including accessible and secure election systems. With studies showing that childcare is one of the main obstacles to employees returning to the workforce, we consider the availability and affordability of qualified facilities. And with surveys showing a sizeable percentage of younger workers would not live in a state that bans abortion, we factor reproductive rights in this category as well.

Has nothing to do with it.

Because texas outlawed kids getting dick removal surgery.
Liberals think that is bad for society to outlaw mutilating kids

Texas should consider that a win based on the metrics of the study. Turn it around. It’s the best state for babies in the womb and newborns.

We rate each state’s utility infrastructure including the condition of drinking water and wastewater systems, the reliability of the electrical grid, and the availability of renewable energy. And we measure each state’s sustainability in the face of climate change, looking at the risk of flooding, wildfires, and extreme weather.

We also consider historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), which companies are increasingly seeking to partner with.
Lol

That's sad actually.. Because I bet that VA is skewed highly to t"the area within 15 miles of DC" ...aka tax dollars

This is largely correct, but an important factor is they didn't squander the opportunity like many other places (like Louisiana) on the list.
The have had a massive immigration of highly educated/intelligent people low on social pathology who have raised children who are highly intelligent and become highly educated with low social pathology. They also aren't exactly economically conservative and pay lots of local/state taxes, but, most importantly, they have largely efficiently allocated these taxes (which states like Louisiana cannot seem to ever do).
