How Old Were You? Moved Out of Parents' House Edition.

I see too many 20-somethings living at home and not really doing much lately. Makes me sick.
How old were you when you moved out? What were you doing/attending? Did you move back at any point?
I was 18.5 when I moved out. I joined the USMC shortly after but had been trying to enlist for months. I had to get a medical waiver due to a previous hand surgery.
I only moved back for 2 months until I was able to find a house to rent after I left active duty (age 23).
What are/were your stipulations for 18+ residents in your home?

18.
I put myself through college in cash working two/three jobs.
Louisiana State University class of 2005.
It can be done; you just have to want it bad enough.

19, thought to be fair there was some back and forth and brief homelessness.
Edit: professional couch surfing and sleeping in recording studios and rehearsal spaces is probably a better description than “homeless”

22, going on 23 when I left the nest, I was in college at the time. Fortunately, never had to move back home, although my wife and I did live with her parents for 6 months while we were waiting for our house to be built.

22 when I moved out. Lived at home through college. My parents said as long as I’m going to college, making good grades I can stay for free. Sometimes I wish I would have experienced living away from home in college. But I moved out at 22 completely debt free. That makes a big difference, getting a head start in life.

17, came back for 1 summer for work when I was like 20. I was doing 16 hour days for 6 1/2 days a week for 3 months so I was hardly ever at the house.
It was nice to have supper waiting in the microwave + clean clothes though

18 with a group of 4 high school buddies. That lasted 3 months before people stopped paying rent.
Moved back in for almost a year, then never moved back.
We were told "you can stay here as long as you're in school"

Left at 20 right after finishing xray school. Never went back. My kids all stayed home through college then moved out after. During college they paid all their own bills.

different times buddy
have you seen the cost of housing and living these days, not to mention buying a vehicle, blame your elected leaders
I was in/out trying to save money a couple of times before eventually settling for good
I did have my own house before I got married but we had to upgrade to something bigger with kids

This doesn't count against you, you were healing brother.
Ive learned that men are made at different ages. Some 15 year olds have more nuts than some 35 year olds.
18 for me as far as moving out.
I cant even imagine asking my father and mother to move in with them in my 20s or 30s. The disappointment in my father alone would kill me. Id rather live on the streets.
