Worse

We had some proven arms and bats last year and still didn’t host or make it out of the regionals

Now take away all those players without adding any proven studs from the portal

The Jay suck-offs don’t like it but that’s reality of where this team is at. They are relying too heavily on Jays young players emerging in a big way. Whether they do or not, LSU deserves to be in a better position rather than having so much unproveness and uncertainty. Jay needs to step up evals and recruiting. .

When you bring in portal players over all the recruits you have signed is a delicate balance to ask those players to continue to wait and wait for their turn

It’s a new era where if a player isn’t seeing the field the moment they step on campus odds are high you are going to lose them

Who are the proven studs in the portal?

Huh? Kling and neal and cam are gone.

2 outs away from hosting a Super in which you would have been favored.

LSU has replaced arms with ease every single season Jay has been here. He also won 17 SEC games without a legit SEC caliber weekend starter in his first season.

LSU will have a more complete team next season. They had literally 1 starting positional player return last season. 1.

Not sure you realize how great Chase Shores is and can be if he is recovered. He is a top 15 overall type of talent.

You realize he's bringing in a ton of other veteran guys, right? To actually compete and start. You are worse than anyone sucking anyone off. Jay has proven far more than you have. I don't understand what is wrong with people like you, but it's pretty pathetic.

I don't know how you can see how LSU finished and assume they will be worse next season. The younger guys got better and LSU will be adding a lot this team.

Intrigued about the arms that are coming in, but not sure where we are gonna get the Holman and Jump type of consistency from a Friday/Saturday starter.

Lineup is in desperate need of a power infusion with Tanks and likely Bear gone. That's close to 50 homeruns you're trying to replace, and from they've gotten thus far, it doesn't really seem close to matching. Laviolette perhaps would have provided that but we know he's likely to withdraw from the portal.

Big questions about the lineup. You would hope that Milam, Larson and Brown serve as your cornerstones for the future, but they have to take the next step first. Kling and Neal didn't, and that was disastrous from a lineup standpoint.

A lot of people dont understand the power we have coming in seems like. Hernandez hit 23 home runs last year. Yamin hit "just" 13 but has huge power potential we could unlock, 13 led Dayton by 4 home runs too so probably just wasnt a focus area for them like it is here. He's 6'5 and definitely hits the weight room. Few JUCO guys we have definitely can hit for power coming in. Then there's so many guys in the recruiting class with a lot of power potential that should make it in as well.

You also cant discount things like players simply getting better. Larson, Brown, Frey, they will probably all show more power than they were able to this season. Milam hit 8 home runs all in the last 27 games of the season which is a really promising power potential there. Players also that tend to transfer here hit more than they did previously (sans someone like White who had a ton coming in already). Braswell hit more home runs this season than he did in 2 years starting at USC. Bingham had a higher home run rate this season than he ever had at Arizona. We simply focus on that area here more than a lot of other schools.

If Jones returns which is still definitely possible I'd argue we'll have more power overall in the lineup next season than we did this season.

Easy — lost Tanks, Holman, Jump and likely Herring and Jones

That’s your 2 best hitters and 3 best pitchers. Do you think Jay has replaced Friday/Saturday arms, the best relief pitcher in college baseball and 50 HRs a year from two guys in the heard of the batting order?

Mac Bingham hit 100 pts higher at Arizona and was a 4-year contributor and All PAC12 there

You definitely never know what you’re getting when they come from Dayton, Indiana St etc. Occasionally you get Sonny DiChiara, but most of the time they aren’t coming into the SEC and having the same production

You have no idea who our transfers in are or if they will perform or not. Jay has a CWS title, and took a rebuild year and almost was in a Super that we would have hosted and been the heavy favorite.

I suggest you stop following the sport if you are going to be a miserable count.

Who knows.

No one thought A&M was going to be good going in and they made the Final.

Have to wait and see how the team pops.
