27 year old cirrhosis

Hey OT,
To give everyone some back story, I recently became concerned with the levels of my drinking due to an occasional light burning sensation just under my rib cage.
My drinking started out around 19 when I was in college. I drank Friday, Saturday and Sunday to get drunk. I couldn’t put a number on it but I probably drank 40 drinks a week over that span. I kept up with that pace throughout college.
Fast forward to after college and I continued to drink at the 40-50 drink a week pace for the past few years. Just recently I started having a very light burning sensation that comes and goes occasionally under my ribs. Other than that, I hadn’t experienced any other symptoms other than putting on some more lbs over the past years.
This prompted me to schedule a doctors appointment to get some bloodwork. I am scared to death that I have cirrhosis as I’ve been a 40-45 drinks a week drinker for the past 8 years. This has been a huge wake up call for me to get sober. To add injury to insult, I also recently lost my job. Drinking has never caused me any issues with work though.
Hopefully my blood work comes back not so bad.
Edit: my drink of choice is typically a light beer. Whiskey every now and then. To clarify, the 40 drinks a week are drank between Friday and Sunday. I don’t drink during Monday - Thursday.
Appreciate any thoughts or advice.

Stop drinking so much.

My advice, stop drinking. It's the drinking that will require you to get a liver transplant and it will be the drinking that disqualifies you from getting one.

Honestly I don't have any experience with alcohol but it sounds like you're having a rough time in general and I know plenty about that. Hope things turn around for you, and soon. The fact that you have the self awareness to get tested and at least try to get it together is a good sign. Good luck.

Are you sure it isn’t heartburn, but yea. Professional help to quit would be a wise thing to consider.

Cirrhosis is not a diagnosis made by blood work but by tissue examination in concordance with imaging. If u end up not having it, you'd be wise to consider it a reprieve and a chance to change your ways. It's a horrible way to die and if u could get a liver transplant, it's not a fun way to live

Even if it’s not cirrhosis, please get processional help and go to AA, because this will kill you one way or another if you keep this up.

Might be a sign of who you hang out with -- I don't know you, but 40-45 drinks a week is a shite ton of alcohol. That's an average of 6 a night. It might not seem like a lot if it is the norm all around you.
Quite frankly, you owe it to yourself to stop. You're harming yourself. Be nice to yourself, I'm sure you're a hell of a guy.

That?
At any rate, quit drinking. Go to AA, church, something. Get some help.

To paraphrase, "Hey OT, I drink too much and my liver hurts. What should I do?" Cocaine. The answer is cocaine.

6 normal not cringe ipa beers a day is probably better for you than 6 cokes a day

Are we talking beer or whiskey?

did that (or more) for 20+ years. That's not even hardcore alcoholism IMO.
Depends on the drink. 40 light beers a week is different than liquor.
Likely heartburn or gastritis.
I used to drink that much beer a week, my liver levels weren't even elevated but I was drinking no liquor at all. I take several days off a week now, and have days where I might just have 1 or 2. Now a 12 pack of Miller lite gets me absolutely hammered and hungover for 2 days so I don't do that very often.

Stop drinking and detoxify your liver.
