Does the LSU/Bama game lose a lot of luster now that Saban is not coaching?

It’s still Bama and will depend how good they are.
If I’m Brian Kelly I’m teaching my team to not worry so much about who did what when, and I’m talking to them about setting the standard now.
Georgia currently is that standard.

It will be nice to go back to the 2000s and owning Alabama.

Yes. Its value will be like any other SEC game: the better we both are that season, the more it will matter.
Well, at least after the next few years, once we’ve restored a bit of balance to the universe

Yes because we probably aren't going to lose as often and Saban isn't calling plays that will break our hearts with 4 minutes left.

Nah, that happened in 2011 when LSU won the "game of the century", only to be told it didn't count. First of many mulligans for that program. With the playoff set up now, many of their games will be meaningless.
Well, meaningless for them as in their loss won't matter.

What destroys the luster is the loss of divisions. Bama and LSU were the top programs in the West. Now, it will be Bama and UGA until someone else emerges long enough to prove that they are worthy. LSU, aTm, Texas, and OU are the main contenders.

Yes and no. It will definitely lose some, but unless…or when we start beating them regularly, then it’ll ultimately lose a decent amount more.

Bama was a game LSU always had circled prior to Saban correct?

Been going to LSU-Bama fball games for decades. It was always a big game especially in years we were good.

I have hated them since I was a little kid and Bear Bryant stalked the sidelines. I will hate them long after this latest coaching mistake is fired.

Balance to the Universe will now include Texas. Sarkisian is off the juice.

A little.
Saban was a great coach and he worked the system and voters.
Now that NIL has taken hold and they are expanding the playoffs, he got out at the right time.
He can no longer pay players under the table or rely on voters to make him one of automatic teams to compete for Championship.
