Today's Republicans are basically 90's Democrats.

I fricking WISH the Republicans would become "extreme" and get government back in its box, the Constitution.

God damn that Overton Window shifted over time. Yeesh.

Would love to hear, specifically, which positions the republicans have gotten EXTREEEEEEEME on?

Because I can list you about ten things democrats have gone batshit crazy on but I can't think of a single position that republicans have gone way extreme on as compared to their historical beliefs. If anything it's the exact opposite.

While I do not agree with this characterization on the GOP side of things, for the sake of better understanding please remind me of exactly what accomplishments the Pubs had made for about 30+ years when these extreme elements were not being reflected in people at the top like Bush I, Bush II, McCain or Romney?

People continually and conveniently seem to want to disregard about 3 decades worth of a whole lot of “not much” from the Republican Party and then act bewildered by why people aren’t clamoring for more of it.

What are you smoking? Mainstream Republicans are not even conservative anymore.

By ‘extreme’ I think you mean ‘alike’. The policy of spending more than we take in is the same for both, and will lead to our slow collapse. Already is, really

separation of church and state means

This is a myth that is used to silence religious people around this country.

There was never meant to be a separation of church and state as atheists today try to frame it. The founders of the country 100% founded this country on a religious belief in God as a part of this countries very fabric.

It's printed right on the currency for the love of God...

IN GOD WE TRUST...... and used to be prominently displayed in all courts, schools and government buildings until the anti religious hacks got a foothold in our government.

Seems the OP despises both Religion and Individual Freedom/Capitalism, both of the which this Nation was built upon. The extraordinary success -nws the now-realized and problematic aspects both Spiritual and Worldly - of said ‘success’ does not justify throwing the ideological baby out with the bath water. Fascism ( State control of everything) can be problematic as well. Think Joe Biden and the war-profiteering people who control him. The OP is either a dupe/useful idiot or a Fascist op, imo. Something smells rotten re the canned “narcissist” label for the highly capable and Capitalist Trump. I don’t care if my heart surgeon buys a big airplane and lands it in the back yard of his mansion. Excelling re the goods or services one delivers for public consumption being motivated by self interest seems to be very efficient, especially if our culture encourages and awards philanthrophic enterprises as a further encouragement for the narcissistic but productive narcissistic personality. All things change. We are learning and evolving. And it’s fixing to go hyper-drive.

Simply disagreeing with wanting LGBTQ themed porn in elementary schools now is apparently “extreme” per OP.

The right hasn’t moved. Trump is a moderate and less conservative on most issues than any Republican would’ve been 20 years ago.

Meanwhile on the left Bill Clinton went from printing rebel flag campaign buttons in 1992 to going full progressive while campaigning for Hillary in 2016.

Whatabouttism relative to American politics is a joke. The right didn’t change outside of a debate over globalism vs conservative populism, the liberals were just replaced by progressives on the left making the differences far more pronounced than in previous generations.

I am an old school IKE moderate. My generation actually believed in God & County, not just just talked about it while being Commie loving heathens.

BOTH sides need to focus on the DEBT, yet both focus on hot button issues like Abortion and Guns.

We have a Corporate stooge in Sleepy Joe
We have a Mobster stooge in Trumpty Dumpty

Both sides have gone extreme in that NEITHER side represent the actual citizens and actual taxpayers.

DJT did not serve his country and disrespects the uniform
DJT is not a true Christian and disrespects the faith

Anybody who supports this disrespect is an extreme Republican in my view and should form another party and stop calling themselves Republicans. They are not the Republican Party I respect from my youth and middle age.

The problem is many in the middle are cynical individuals that always want to stay there so they can be contrarian and try to look smarter than everyone else.
