NATO’s eastward expansion, pushing nearly 1,000 miles closer to Russia’s borders, is a reckless move that has made the world a much more dangerous place. This strategy, often justified as defending democracy, has greatly increased the risk of nuclear war by undermining nuclear early warning systems and creating a more dangerous security environment.

When NATO moved into Eastern Europe, it did more than just shift borders. It brought military infrastructure right up to Russia’s doorstep, forcing Russia to be on constant high alert. Unlike the U.S., which has a strong satellite-based early warning system (SBIRS), Russia relies a lot on ground-based radars. These horizon-based systems are easier to attack and have more technical problems. The U.S. system uses advanced satellites that can quickly spot missile launches and provide reliable early warnings. In contrast, Russia’s early warning depends on ground-based radars that are less effective and easier to destroy.

Ukraine’s recent attacks on Russian radar systems highlight this weakness. By targeting these key installations, Ukraine has made it even harder for Russia to detect and respond to potential threats. This isn’t just a tactical victory; it’s a dangerous escalation that increases the chances of a nuclear mistake.

NATO’s expansion means both sides have less time to react if missiles are launched. With forces so close to each other, the window for detection and decision-making is very short. This compressed timeline can lead to rushed, poorly considered decisions, raising the risk of an accidental or preemptive nuclear strike.

Now, with the proposed introduction of F-16s, which are nuclear-capable, into Ukraine, the risk grows even more. It’s almost as if the goal is to completely eliminate the safety net of early warning. These planes can carry nuclear weapons, making the situation even more volatile and increasing the chances of miscalculation and nuclear conflict.

The West’s expansionist policies also hurt efforts toward arms control and international security. By pushing NATO closer to Russia, the West has eroded trust and made meaningful dialogue harder. Instead of working to reduce nuclear threats, these actions have created a more dangerous environment where the risk of nuclear war is higher than ever.

So, why is the U.S. so fearless when it comes to potential nuclear conflict? NATO’s eastward push isn’t about defense—it’s a provocative move that makes the world more dangerous. By degrading nuclear early warning systems and increasing the risk of accidental war, this strategy has made the world less safe. The West needs to rethink its aggressive expansion and focus on restoring stability and reducing the risk of nuclear conflict. The stakes are too high to ignore these dangers any longer.

Exactly. No way these attacks are being carried out without American assistance and approval.

I seriously agree. The youngest male Ukrainian soldier alive could be Joe Biden’s body double. It ain’t the Ukrainians fighting this war anymore.

Latest news is that Germany (with not much of a military) is committing some very high tech missile defense systems to Ukraine. I think NATO is feeling that Trump pressure.

I don't think you understand. The Ukranians are gambling with your family's life. These targets are not targets of value for ukraine.

Yes and so is the US fighting a proxy war with Russia on their doorstep.
All the warmongers got worked up about Russian ships in Cuba, what would they do if Cuba started lobbing missiles at the US and the Russians were directly assisting? Bomb, Bomb.
The US is leading the world down a path of destruction.

I’d the US attacked Cuba I would expect them to be able to defend themselves.

No money, no weapons, no NATO to Ukraine.

Putin will continue to occupy the Russian speaking areas and Ukraine will basically be an independent nation lIke Switzerland. They will serve as a buffer between east and west.

You think "WE" can get this concession from Putin? I think Putin now is determined to get the whole shebang.

So Ukraine should just forget about the 100 'sof thousand casualties that Putin caused by invading their country. Like no harm , no foul"........except for the destruction of a generation.

Well there were peace talks very early. The only condition then was that Ukraine renounce joining NATO. At our insistence. Ukraine walked away.

So that blood is on Zelensky's hands, and Biden's, and yours if you support it.
