Welcome to the Murder Capital of America doc released about BR

I tell people all the time BR was never this bad. It always had its bad parts but it was never what I considered overwhelming. Now it is what I consider overwhelming. For example, most of Airline used to be a vibrant and bustling street with Cortana, Fun Fair Park, Women's Hospital, Earl K Long, Best Buy, Don's Seafood, Benningan's, Sam's Club, etc. Now most of it looks like a bomb blew it up
Growing up I don't remember hearing about gangs but gangs have taken off in the city since the pandemic. The crime has definitely become more organized. A lot of young Blcak men who would usually aspire to be top athletes are now inspiring to be top gangstas ... the "culture" has worsen. And if you think the Blcak leadership in the city will do anything to redress the issue ... think again ... they only interested in throwing around the racism victim card.
I say if your neighborhood median home price is NOT at least $300,000 and median rent is NOT at least $2,000 ... it is time to come up with an exit plan to higher grounds. Even if you don't have kids, the writing on the wall is that the quality of life in BR is about to reach new lows and LSU can't save it. BR needs STRONG whyte, AZN (chinese, korean, japanese, indian), and corporate interest to reverse the decline (see Atlanta) and that's not happening.

Baton Rouge sans St George (The Great White Mecca) is worse than Burma

Katrina changed the landscape forever and sterling and national protests weakened law enforcement who prettty much gave up enforcing the top crime areas

New Orleans and Baton Rouge are in a fierce competition for who is the worst 3rd world shithole

300 was my conservative #, 300 should be enough to keep most of the riff raff out. Ideally 400K is the new standard and LANDLOCKED (little to no new home construction)

SFP will be here soon to tell you on approximately 350 wordy posts why it was far worse in ( fill in year) and why you should strive to be more smarter like him and less dumberly like you.

Honestly I don’t understand how telling the truth about what you’re “trying” to say has become such a big deal.
Let’s be honest, the black community and their “culture” bullshite is the problem. Black leadership in these fricked up communities embracing tribalism only makes the problem much worse. I cannot imagine putting a number to the innocent lives lost in the past decade across this country because of exactly what I described in my last sentence.
White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, etc. That makes no difference, innocent people are being killed by this glorified black culture garbage at an alarming rate every single day.
The problem is, most of the people who can correct the problems are too chicken shite to identify the problem for exactly what it is. Even when they have undeniable statistics to back it up.
And before all of the brainwashed idiots decide to make their assumptions, Tony Clayton is the district attorney in West Baton Rouge Parish and he’s a black man. He’s the perfect example of what type of DA is needed across this country to clean this mess up.

We tried to give you this between Flannery Rd and Sherwood Forest and it didn't make a dent, bro.

Culture
This is the problem and it’s only going to get worse in the next few decades.
I have been a cop in this city for over two decades. It’s the only thing I have ever done.
The common denominators I have found among those responsible for the vast majority of violent crimes are very simple.
1. Didn’t graduate from high school.
2. Have children out of wedlock.
3. Don’t have a job.
4. Never had a meaningful relationship with their father.
What this tells me is that if you make poor life choices, your life will almost inevitably lead to crime.
Gangster culture is glamorized here. For every one rapper that has made it, they have set back 100k kids that look just like them.
The biggest disparity in Baton Rouge is the racial make up of both the offender and victims of violent crime. If you removed one group from the data, the total armed robbery and murders would be in the single digits.
Let that sink in for a minute.
And it’s not racist, it’s pattern recognition. I wish I could do more to help change this fact, but I am competing against a culture that can’t be stopped. There is a political class of leaders in this area that trade in on long passed transgressions to critique, manipulate, and handcuff most of my efforts for their own gain to stay in power.
At this point, I have come to terms with what my life’s work will be reduced to. I have got a front row seat to watch it all crumble. The challenge is to not get caught in it and to make it out alive while trying to help some.
Wish me luck.

Hard for me to understand how br is declining. The city has so many advantages LSU, Exxon, piles of state gov jobs that are basically recession proof.
Posted on 6/15/24 at 7:48 pm to nicholastiger
This is true… they have cops that just avoid areas that may have crime. They do not want to risk themselves with a confrontation unless it’s totally necessary.

Pattern recognition itself is now racist. And bigoted. And every other -ist out there.

I don't blame them. Why, as a cop, would I bother with a population that would rather see me dead than accept my help in their "community"?

I'm White. If it was Whites causing all this shite I would call them out. Hell, I'd even get involved and try to do something about it. Anything.
I'm not about to lie to myself and say the Whites aren't the ones murdering each other and others. It's BS. Wake the frick up!! Call a Spade a Spade

Baton Rouge is not dangerous... nowhere I go do I feel my life is in danger... yeah it's some places you think you car will get broken into... but that's anywhere... the majority of the murders around here are people killing people they have prior issues with mo matter how insignificant those issues are... both college campuses are located by what some may term as bad neighborhoods... but it's rare a SU or LSU student are involved in a violent encounter and when it does occur it's a big deal...

frickin preach!!
I've met Tony on numerous occasions and he is as advertised. He is an impressive man to say the least. He doesn't put up with bullshite and gets the job done. Hell, I'd vote for him as Mayor, or even Govenor.
