was on Knoxville sports radio this morning. The hosts did not press, but LSU and Clemson were mentioned by name as possible destinations. Chief said he was pretty sure he would be somewhere "January 2, 3, or 4" and that he is very excited about the future. Who knows which one, but he did sound excited and fired up and he is anxious to work with a group of guys on a game plan. He sounds much more upbeat than he has in a long time, and sounds like he is truly grateful for his new opportunities.

LSU.

A lot don't like the choice but I think it is a solid hire.

I think this is already a done deal.

He's not coming here to be a LB coach, that's for damn sure.

So what is the chance of Chavis, Coach O and the LB coach from Auburn?

slim to none. Chavis would coach LBs, so we'd need a DB coach.

I am pretty sure he would be DC and LB coach...that is what he was at Tennessee.

He likes his LB's fast...he likes to beef up safeties and convert them to LB.

Do you think he would move McCray to LB? I like Jones at safety because of his speed but McCray seems to be a perfect fit at LB in his defense.

Have you see McCray whiff continuously from safety? Do you think that moving him closer to the line would reduce the frequency of that happening? I personally get really nervous when McCray is on the field...
