It’s awesome because John McTiernan knows how to make great action movies. Out of Darkness did this type of story recently and it just doesn’t work in the end imo. Too many holes with the reveal.

His conviction should have been overturned based on knocking out pure bangers. He was just trying to make sure some producer didn’t take over his movie.

The Blank Check podcast just did McTiernan and the 13th Warrior was a really good episode.
Iirc this was finished and they weren't sure what to do with it since it's kind of a mess and then The Thomas Crown Affair came out and they hurried and pushed this out hoping to get a bump from McTiernan directing both.

I know a woman who did stunts in this film. I've always loved it and watch it whenever I see it come on.

It's definitely mid.
It has some good parts, obviously, but is also a complete mess.
