I’m spending the day in New Orleans with my family on Saturday

Please recommend a good place for us to have dinner that evening. I don’t need restaurants with 5 stars, just want a place with good food that can accommodate a party of six. Seafood, steakhouse, etc ….I don’t care as long as the food is good.

What part of town will you be in?

Venezia. Good Italian, Steaks, and the off menu seafood platter is legit
Brocatos across the street for gelato or cannoli.
Might want to get there around when they open though

I looked at Resy to see who has reservations for 6 that night. It sounds like you wouldn't want anything "interesting" but instead slightly more basic.
The following have reservations:
Cochon
Gabrielle
Avo
Costera
Gianna
Opentable:
Meril
Luke
Miss River
Superior Seafood might be up you guys alley and they have stuff. Wouldn't be my choice but might be for you

Just look for one that allows firearms inside

Mandina’s…. From teenagers to older folks , they always love the Italian and seafood options. This time of year, their soft crab Almandine is some of the best of in the city

Staying at the Hotel Monteleone.

You're close to a lot of stuff. Anything in the Warehouse District, CBD, etc.
Meril, Maypop, Herbsaint, Cochon etc are all relatively nearby

Mr. B's is across the street if that appeals to you.

Mr. B's is a great choice.
For a bit more casual, but still the New Orleans classic feel, I love Mandinas and always recommend it as I feel it's a great neighborhood-type restaurant that is always good. You can park in their lot or take the street car. As mentioned, Angelo Brocoto's is close by too if you'd like to walk over after dinner.

Mr. B’s is my choice….nearby and no parking issues ….Plus you probably won’t get shot at walking across the street from your hotel…but who knows it’s New Orleans the land of CRIME…..

In the same general locale (easy walking distance), Irene's would also be a decent choice.

Any of these would be my choices.

From the Monteleone, you could walk to any of these fine establishments:
Palm & Pine (southern cooking, and south of that)
Domenica (pizza, pasta, salumi)
Peche (seafood)
Tap in & Make a reservation, wont ya?
