I actually wouldn't mind a 7PM CT Friday game, considering we've got a better chance at landing in the bottom 14 of the final rankings than the top 4

Fans in Shreveport, Dallas, Houston, etc etc might disagree with the travel time on a Friday / work day.

If LSU is hosting a home playoff game the weekend before Christmas, I have a feeling that those wishing to attend will find it within themselves to take that Friday off of work.

I'm sure most fans can figure out a way to take off work on the Friday before Christmas to attend a playoff game. Much better than Saturday at 11am.

How will they handle the ticket distribution? Will the visitors get the usual 7K allotment or will it be closer to a 50/50 split?

Allotment might probably go through the home university. No reason to 50/50 split a home site because if the distance between the two teams is not good, you'll likely have a bunch of empty seats.

Common sense would be somewhere in between that. Maybe 10-20% of seats for the visitors.

50/50 would be absurd and lead to alot of unsold tickets for visiting teams. Plus, its a home game--not a neutral site. The host earned the advantage.

True. Let LSU fans have the entire lower bowl and give the visitors the upper decks. It Texas can do it, why can't we?

If LSU is hosting a Friday playoff game...Baton Rouge business would shut down, like it was a National Holiday.

It’s not either/or.

You can give 50/50 (or close to it, make 60/40 favores for home), but give a deadline to other school to sell tickets internally or they need to be returned.

Remember they don’t really care about butts in the seats. Just that tickets are sold.

And I dunno if the hosting venue really gets the final word on allotment rules anyway.

Of course, any team would be happy with a 1st round bye, but it's kind of funny that the best 4 teams don't get a chance to have home stadium playoff game.

The first two rounds need to be on campus. How many fans are going to travel three times in January? It will make for some cheap tickets though if you want to go to any of the games.

The new playoff format is terrible but if we could get one of the home playoff spots in that first round it would be awesome to see.

The Gumps are the only fan base that will travel to every game. They'll take out reverse mortgages on their mobile homes, cash in their life insurance policies, and raid their kids' college funds to do it.
