If you're trying to get the most out of your Prime membership, GrubHub is now free for you.

LINK

If you are an Amazon Prime member, you now have Grubhub+ as part of your membership. Benefits of that special subscription tier of the delivery service – it usually costs $9.99 monthly – include no delivery fees on orders over $12, lower service fees, and 5% back on pickup orders.

No thanks, I am not a fan of cold food and warm drinks that cost 50% more than usual.

Why would a restaurant think they should take a cut of that?

As an example I just plugged in pick up from Subway in store. if I drove the 1.5 miles to pick up a regular sub combo from Subway it would cost me $9.81. That's a six inch club, chips and a drink. $9.08 for the combo + $0.73 tax.

I just plugged it in on Grubhub. They do not provide a combo option, it's a la carte.

$10,49 for the sandwich
$2.69 for the chips
$3.79 for a Coke
My Amazon Prime Membership eliminates the $0.99 delivery fee (woohoo!)
May Amazon Prime Membership eliminates discounts the "Taxes and Other Fees" category from $4.18 to $2.99 (nice!)
So my Amazon Prime Membership does get rid of $2.18 total.

Total from GrubHub BEFORE I have to tip the driver: $19.96

Customary tip for driver is around 20% on a "cheap meal" so that's another $4.

Total for shitty 6 inch sub combo directly from Subway: $9.81
Total from GrubHub for a shitty 6 inch sub combo from Subway: $23.96

Thanks Amazon Prime and Grub Hub - what a great deal!!

Food delivery services are hardly a benefit to anyone other than lazy people

I don't like some of these shady people working for these delivery companies being in possession of my food.. plus it makes the food way too expensive IMO

More folks should do this math. I wonder how many restaurants lose customers because they look at the prices in the delivery app and don't go in person?

What is the goal of all this? Are they gonna replace leather with fat people skin?

Just great. Something I won't use and can't since I live in BFE, yet it will be the justification to up the Prime subscription rate

Been that way for a little while now. paired with an AMEX I pretty much get a "free" meal every month.

ETA: I always pick up my orders instead of having them delivered so I don't pay for delivery or a tip.

I have no idea why people use these dumb, shitty services. I've heard nothing but bad things about them.

If you're dumb enough to pay $40 for a cold big Mac then you deserve the shitty service you get
