I know it is not basketball season, but I found this on YouTube and don't recall seeing it posted here. I'm sure there could be debate about whether or not these are truly Shaq's top 50 CBB plays, but these do show just how dominate he was in college basketball. Enjoy.

For as much as Shaq’s known for his size and power, his feel, touch, and timing were all insanely elite as well. If Shaq was born today, they would turn him into some ultimate version of KD. Dude was the most dominant force in American sports history.

Elite footwork and a very underrated passer

His quickness in college, particularly for a big man, was astounding.

As much as I love Shaq, I think that is probably Wilt Chamberlain.

I watched a lot of those games back then and I admit... we took Shaq for granted. I forgot how incredible he really was.

Shaq to the Raq-All I got

Those...were the days, my friend.
I just can't understand why LSU never advanced past the 2nd round of the NCAA in the Shaq years. They had scads of talent

I was lucky enough to be at the majority of those home games. My first LSU game was LSU vs Loyola Marymount. One of the craziest was, I can't remember who we were playing, it was a small college right before maybe the Arizona game. Shaq slammed the ball so hard it broke the chain on the base of the goal holding the goal to the floor.

I had the pleasure of seeing Shaq play in person once, against Alabama, I was astounded when he ran a fast break (very similar to number 44 in the video). His agility and quickness for a man his size was amazing. The only thing more surprising at that game was that Wimp Sanderson actually thought those ugly plaid jackets looked good.

Shaq was every bit as quick and 50+ lbs heavier than Wilt, at least during his Orlando days. He slowed A BIT, but probably had 100 lbs on Wilt after he left the Magic.
He would have stuffed the basketball AND Wilt into the hoop.
Don't even get me started on all those 6-7 honkies Wilt dunked over in the sixties and early seventies. There were a grand total of THREE quality big men who played during Wilt's era, and at least one of them (Russell) wasn't even a seven footer. When Shaq played, EVERY TEAM had MULTIPLE seven footers on the roster.
Now we can debate that if Wilt had grown up when Shaq did, he would have trained better, eaten better, etc..
But strictly moving Wilt in his prime into Shaq's era in his prime, Shaq dominates Wilt.

I’m surprised the game against McNeese during his career when Shaq took the ball the length of the court and jumped completely over the McNeese player slamming it home isn’t in the top 50…GREAT video regardless..Thanks for posting…

As I recall Dale brought in Bill Walton to help Shaq advance his skills at center. So very timely with Waltons passing this week.

quote:Dude, your post is filled will a whole lot of myth.
When Shaq played, EVERY TEAM had MULTIPLE seven footers on the roster.
First, Wilt was the superior athlete. Do your research and you'll understand just what a specimen Wilt was. Look up his track & field exploits.
Second, your assumption every team had multiple seven footers is false. Rewatch the video and tell me how many black seven footers he was dunking on since you brought up honkies. Get a pen and paper and write down the number of "honkies" Shaq dunked on in the vid. The average height at center vs Shaq was 6'11". Against Wilt was 6'10".
Hakeem was barely 6'10". Head to Head, Shaq outscored him by 1.9 points per game. Hakeem had more blocks and assist. I bring this up because I'll bet you didn't know Wilt led the NBA in assist one season.
And the argument Russell was better is a huge myth. Head to head, Wilt averaged 29.9 points and 28.1 rebounds against Russell, who averaged 14.2 points and 22.9 rebounds respectively against Chamberlain.

I am a huge Shaw fan, but Wilt was unbelievably athletic.
