Off or in order?

Based on last year it seems like it’ll be normal plus ack will need some rest.

I’d imagine in the same order we’ve been pitching in the SEC tourney since it worked…

So Jump, Holman, Ack/Hurd/Little…

Wofford can hit. I know it’s not great competition but they hit .340 as a team. You need to pitch Jump. Then game 2 will be Holman. Just like we’ve been doing for 2 months

Yep with LSU only having two reliable starters, I think this old saying fits pretty well. "Spahn and Sain and pray for rain!"

Give me Holman vs. Wofford and Jump vs. UNC. Both lineups are stacked statistically. Wofford is 6 right/3 left. UNC is 4 right/4 left/1 switch. Give me Ack in a 2nd game vs. UNC, Hurd if we had to play a 2nd vs. Wofford. If we had to play Long Island, throw Dutton.

Wofford loves them some stolen bases…you stick with the lefty Jump

Johnson started Skenes vs Tulane last year, we are going to start Jump vs Wofford

Jump and Holman are essentially 1A and 1B. I wouldn't really consider it pitching off in game 1 if he started Holman. Jay has the luxury to scout these teams and base it off matchups

Wishing that Cam Johnson wasn't the biggest recruiting bust in the last 15 years of LSU baseball.

We could flip Holman and Jump if we wanted to. Pitching Holman isn't "pitching off". And, if there was some reason (matchup, extra rest) to hold Jump for game 2, it would make sense.

It would be a major risk to pitch someone other than those 2. And, I don't think Jay would do it even if it made sense to take the risk.

Like it's the last series of the season.

If you make it to the Supers, rinse, repeat.

This is one of those order of event problems.

Is Ack vs. UNC (in their 4th game) better or worse than Ack vs. Wofford.

A lot of people won't even consider the latter because it's game 1. But, you could make a real strong argument that Ack vs. Wofford is the better statistical play.

I tend to agree but the difference is neither Jump nor Holman are way better than the other. They’re both great pitchers and pretty much equal at this point instead of us having an “ace,” which is a great thing btw. Last year Skenes was obviously your best guy and obviously the best opportunity to win game 1. It may actually come down to which matchup Jay likes this year instead of just keeping the rotation the same.
