Why didn’t Furniss end up at LSU after all Dad did for the school?

His Dads name is on the ring of honor. I recall this coming up as to why he’s not at LSU and can’t remember. Thank you in advance.

Will Furniss is not really SEC material.

He had a choice to go Ole Miss and be "Will Furniss". Or he could have come to LSU and he's always be "Eddie Furniss' son". He's not as good as his dad and he'd be riding the bench on this team. I'm not knocking him at all. He's talented and will likely improve. With all that said, some people need to make their own path.

He’s having a tough year but overall he’s a decent player. We just had Trey Morgan already at first and a recruiting class that included Bear Jones when he came through so no real place for him

Not trying to knock the kid but he's not his dad. Not even close.

He’s wouldn’t be starting at 1B over Morgan, Beloso, & Jones, and maybe Larson next year….

Eddies old coach did him a favor by giving his son a scholarship. Nothing more, nothing less.

When he was coming out of HS, ole miss had just won a cws and LSU was running off Paul mainairi. Might have had something to do with it.

Same reason Billy Cannon Jr went to A & M & Peyton Manning went to Tenn; wanted to chart their own path.
