Perfect replacement for Hunter Dean at that walk on spot. This should be the last move of our offseason.

I know not everyone thought we needed a traditional big man, but I'm happy we got him.

Roster is actually pretty solid going into next year if some younger guys develop. That's a big IF, but we have a decent chance to continue improving as a team and make the tournament.

He look like exactly what we need. A guy that can rebound and block shots.

That is the cleanest uniform in college basketball that he's wearing in that pic

He is very fluid and great footwork for his size. He looks physically like Shaq did when he firs arrived on campus. Now i he can be just half as good a Shaq was he will be a great addition to what is a fairly solid roster.

Seems to move well for a traditional aircraft carrier center.

Like the addition, but he doesn't appear to have any game outside of 5 feet of the basket based on thread highlights. Definitely won't be used like Baker. Even Dean had more offensive game.

Still happy to have a 7 footer that can rebound a bit and give you put backs and an occasional blocked shot.

Interesting note: He will have 3 years of eligibility at LSU. Was injured after 5 games last year.

I’m stoked by this signing. Especially without an open scholarship. They must’ve promised him a scholarship next year, unless someone else is walking on. 247 rated him as the #4 JUCO transfer. They said some nice things that are backed up by the highlights.

LINK /

The No. 4 JUCO prospect in the 247Sports rankings, Boyde averaged 10.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game last year in 31 games and 27 starts. At 7 feet and 240 pounds, Boyde instantly walks in and becomes LSU's biggest player on the roster. He will help with rim protection and rebounding more than anything, though he does have some nice touch around the rim.
