I don't really have a problem with cutting off hot mics when the time is up. shite got out of hand with everyone yelling over each other.

trump should respond there are rules for debates established by the commission and as a rule follower biden should follow those rules. The key take away from Biden move today is his campaign is desperate. Also, I believe Biden is really trying to get out of the debates

This could theoretically work as long as the mic is only cut based on time, and not due to a "fact checker" or "neutral arbiter" AND both candidates agreeing on a moderator.

I agree with this type of idea. I can't stand the childish gibberish after their time is up. If you get a regulated sum of time, that's that. Timer goes out, mic goes out. Not b/c someone physically controls it. Show a timer to us all, let that be that.

I'm ok with these two but there should also be a 3rd debate in October, you know, right before the majority of people vote on Election Day. They should also get more than 2 minutes to talk on a topic. Make the debates 3 hours long and give at least 5 minutes for each response and say 3.5 minutes for a rebuttal.
Also, early voting starting in September is insane.
