If Milazzo throws the ball at first base the runner is no where near the ball
Milazzo threw it horrifically right and the RUNNER STILL DIDNT GET IN THE WAY OF THE BALL
The runner didn’t interfere with the throw, the line is irrelevant

Now somebody said earlier he was on the infield grass at one point which makes it a more egregious no call…..but based on that still shot even though by letter of law it could be called it should surprise no one that it’s not.
See how close his right foot is there, his left was in the grass prior.
That being said I immediately said there is no way Birmingham, ALABAMA is going to overturn that call.

You left out a crucial part of that rule, which is that the runner leaving the running lane has to actually interfere with the play

Your circle of red has leeway to the inside of the foul line toward the infield
So which is it?
So which is it?

Seems like him completely missing the biggest guy on our team is compelling evidence for just that.
He missed him because he threw it damn near to the first base coach not because the runner was blocking his field of view to throw the ball to Jones.

Not sure that matters anyway when the baserunner is way way way outside the base path
Not a single one of you women would’ve said anything if Milazzo didn’t throw the ball all the way across the baseline damn near to the coaches’ box.

I agree….my prior post was not facetious it was a thank you for the ruling….a sincere one

Dude. His right foot never was near the grass

So Milazzo fielded the ball inside the line and the runner being inside the line caused Milazzo to throw the ball outside?
We would have an argument had he jerked it to the left to “avoid the runner who was illegally out of the line”.

He threw it way right and still didn’t hit the runner

Not a single umpire anywhere ever is making that call unless it’s blatant
The exact same call was made against UF last year in game 3 of the finals.
I dont understand why people like to just make shite up

Yeah, on a ball that wasn’t fielded on a 40 degree angle to first base

Ah i guess I missed the geometry note in the rule book. Must be in the fine print.
And if you look at page 4 of this thread, you can see the screenshot of both plays. They are closer than you’d like to admit.

Well there’s also the fact that to call interference, the runner must interfere with the play
ETA and the Bama runner was back in the lane 10 feet before the base

Running to one in fair territory is not interference. That said, if a thrown ball hits the runner, the runner is out.
Not true between the other bases. Only going to one.

You have absolutely no idea what you think you’re talking about. BS that it wasn’t called and utterly embarrassing that the brief review wasn’t called correctly either. Doesn’t matter how terrible the throw was. The runner inside the line causes bad throws which is why it’s a rule.
You bring up a story that you supposedly heard about a similar situation that you say was called correctly and a nonsense explanation yet it’s someone else’s work to find something that probably doesn’t even exist?? You brought it up fk tard.

Did the Alabama player actually interfere with Milazzo making a throw to first?
Yes if he wasn’t running in the batter/runners lane.
