Are they going to speed limit? If so, then they should not face jail time for abiding by the law. Change my mind.
The law says “slower traffic keep right”

You should be able to fire warning shots as long as you have video evidence.

Trucks should all have to drive exactly 65mph on the interstate.
Those frickers cause so many problems when they sit next to each other for miles and no one can pass.

I drove to and from Mandeville yesterday. The amount of dick head truckers holding up traffic in the left lane was just turrible.
A couple weeks ago, I had to drive from Lake Charles to New Orleans on I-10, which is essentially the width of the whole state. It confirmed what I already knew--that we have the most oblivious fricking assholes on the road in America. The drive took 4.5 hours (in part due to the extra hour it took to travel the ~5 miles from Lobdell to the 10/12 split), and I was only able to use cruise control a total of maybe 15 minutes the entire time.

I resorted to flipping the bird to every dick head trucker I passed. They got the message lol!
Possibly include a flash drive record of the offense.
You are either part of the problem or part of the solution.

For that drive into Nashville. I just recently retired and moved to Nashville from Louisiana because my kids live here. I have everything I need very close to me in East Nashville. Eating spots, bars, grocery stores etc. Been here for 6 weeks and haven’t been on any of the multiple interstates yet. Filled my car up 1 time with gas. Loving it????

Everyone should drive in the right lane and pass in the left. Disagree? Name your Sonic

State law says they can't be there?
If not get off your butt and start a cause for a law.
Alabama has one and they don't enforce it.

Automated 18-wheelers can't get here soon enough.

Dick head truckers obviously don’t read TD, nor do Texas drivers. I encounter Texas drivers daily camped out in the fast lane. They should be forced to take Hwy 190.

I was wrong about 10 mph. Trucks are only 5 mph slower.
However there are signs that state trucks shall use the right lane only.

You’re talking about the Atchafalaya Basin. There are no restrictions on the Bonnet Carre. It’s 60 mph for everyone.

That sounds right. I travel all over the country for my job and in some states I see signs posted with car speeds and tractor trailer speeds and they aren’t always the same. Often truck speeds are lowered at night. I’ll tip my hat to Georgia State Troopers because I’ve seen them not only pull 18 wheelers over, but normal vehicles for driving slow in the fast lane. Wish other states did the same thing.
I kind of feel bad for truck drivers in a way because all these tractors are governed down to around 70 to 72 mph. I’m fine with big rigs not going 90 mph like they did when I was a kid, but governing those trucks so close in speed makes it difficult for them to pass each other. When they try to use cruise control they will catch up to other trucks and if they try to pass usually the moron in the slow lane won’t let up for say 15 seconds and let the other truck in the fast lane get far enough ahead of them to get a head of steam so they can get back in the slow lane. Thus you get two trucks going side by side for miles which we can all agree is aggravating as all get out. People get so pissed I see them pass on the shoulder on the interstate.
It’s not just trucks driving slow in the passing lane it’s cars, SUVs, pickups, etc. I don’t even like to call it the fast lane. To me it’s the passing lane and for the last 20 years people seem to think it’s okay to go slow and just set the cruise control and putt in the passing lane. As a person that drives as much as I do it can really prolong an 8 hour trip to 9 hours or more. Very frustrating when you put as many miles on as I do. Hell it’s frustrating for someone that only drives a few miles down the road.

No it isn’t.

Almost everyone in here thinks OP is talking about the Atchafalaya Basin.

Truckers (bypass) lane should be the far left lane. Change my mind.
Posted on 5/11/24 at 5:53 pm to BourreTheDog
The left lane is for putting on your cruise control exactly at the speed limit, or a few mph under, so you don't have to worry about traffic merging on to the road from the right. That way you can focus on your phone.

Blame insurance companies. Truck fleets are governed between 63 and 70. The left lane is for passing. If one truck can go 64 and the other 64.5 it will take a while.
