Will it open up the 10m band propagation?
I wondered that, too. I remember from the test that if you reflect signals off the Northern Lights they end up distorted, and not very useful. But the underlying sunspot activity does seem like it'd allow for better signal propagation, maybe even on the 6m band.

has anyone on this board ever seen northern lights in Alabama ? or anywhere for that matter?
I remember seeing them one time at home in northern La when I was a kid. Late 80's or early 90's.

I had a dream I was on a plane whose engine caught fire. I'm flying today. Now I have to sweat a CME?

Wonder if we will be able to see it here in Northern Germany.

NOAA is calling this an unusual event, pointing out that the flares seem to be associated with a sunspot that’s 16 times the diameter of Earth.

I would think so assuming a clear sky. You are north of Ukraine and they are seeing it. If I were you, find a place as far as possible from artificial light....
Also, they appear fainter through the naked eye than they do on camera.
