I used to live on his street in Tigerland when I was at LSU back in the mid 80's

Never heard his name mentioned on the rant. He was a good guy.

He does deserve more love, but he suffers from the same problem many tiger greats do. He played before most on this board were born.

I used to see him pretty often on Poydras Street. I believe he was with one of the banks downtown. Very trim and easy to spot being so tall.

This answers your question.

I think you would have to be in your 80's to have seen him play at LSU. When he turned pro none of the games were televised in Baton Rouge that I know of. Imagine you young guys of an era when there were two tv stations that came in on an antenna, the NBA was not that popular and all of the teams were in the north, midwest or west. I remember as a small kid that I was thrilled because I got to see a short clip of Bob Cousy of the Boston Celtics on the sports news. I think I also saw a couple on Petit. That was it period other than reading about the games in the newspaper.

He needs a new street that doesn't go through Somalia.

Even in his old age , he is jacked. Not just tall. Built. Hands are gigantic. Also very nice guy

He does all the time. But people who watched him play barely can use a phone.

That is the reason.
Heck you have to be about 80 years old, or older to have seen him play.

I saw him play when he was with the St. Louis Hawks and a dominant force in the NBA. He was a great player and a huge asset for LSU

I played golf with him at a BRHS alumni (Petit graduated from BRHS) tournament when I was still in H.S. I shook his hand and his hand wrapped all the way around mine. That was a tall fellow.
