Can’t speak a foreign language and horses don’t like me.

I don’t know how to play an instrument and my handwriting is terrible, but I have lots of satisfied customers in # 22.

They should know how to operate their turn signal in a car.

Well did not need to say a man should be able to pass gas... That seems completely natural... The revving part though, not sure I know or care to do that

SFP can do 4 maybe 5 of those things

Unfortunately no one has time or attention these days to plow through that list. And certainly not to do all those things, even if applicable today.
I can’t dance and I hate riding horses bc my used to put me on them to break them when I was young. Got bucked and thrown and stepped on many times. Otherwise I’m pretty good on the rest of that list. My handwriting sucks too.

The car engine thing is bullshite. Mechanics get paid sometimes six figures because it is a specialized field. No non-mechanic should ought to know how to fix his own car unless it's something like an oil change or antifreeze refill or inflate tires or swap batteries. If it's a cylinder gone out or spark plug died, especially a transmission problem, no ordinary guy should know how to do that. If my starter goes out and someone hands me a new one, I'd have no idea how to dissassemble my car and replace.
I imagine cars in 1933 were much more simple than today.

I can inform you. I've had to revive several people after smelling my gas. Ammonia salts usually work, but if it's really bad like a few times I've had, sometimes CPR or tasing is necessary to revive the heart.

I can do all of them with two exceptions.
I can't skate and I have no musical talent for an instrument. I do have a vocal range thats rather surprising (from Burl Ives to Coheed and Cambria).
My hope for my son is to impart upon him a willingness to walk among the intellectuals and the laborers. Not only must he be willing to wear both hats, he must possess the absolute certainty that he is, at the very least, the equal of any.
...at the moment we're simply focusing on not shitting his pants.

Men should definitely know how to drive a stick shift vehicle.

There are likely several videos to instruct you on YouTube. No such service existed in 1933.
I do get your point though. In my opinion a man should own a decent set of tools and have a willingness to attempt a diagnosis and repair if needed
